As of today, I officially beat my January goal for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout! I have written 17,108 words so far, vs. a goal of 16,986 words! Yippee! This challenge has been absolutely fantastic and I have really stuck to the daily writing I pledged to do in 2009.

The novel (In The Spotlight) is really coming along, and it's changing from what my original thought and plan was, which is rather interesting. I may post a poll in the next day or so asking for some help naming a couple of things--namely album titles and helping choose hometowns. I think I know where I want everyone to be from, but I might toss it out there for debate of sorts. I love my characters and I really love where the plot seems to be going--even if it is a completely different direction than what I was thinking and/or planning.

Reasons Why is also coming along. I am in the middle of a Hiatus Pt 1 and 2 fic, but I need to go back and watch those eps to get everything relatively correct. I finished a Gibbs and Hannah fic a couple of weeks ago and liked how it turned out. I also am working on a Tony and Hannah's mom Emily fic. There's a couple of lines in that one that are so--Tony. I am beyond in love with writing this AU series.

Work is great. As I keep saying, I love my co-workers and this company and everything it stands for. I feel very valued and part of the team, and I am surrounded by fun, positive people. The customers are fantastic, and I know a lot of them from my former workplace. They are always surprised to see me and are glad to see me too. I'm just so content with things right now. I get to meet out DD (district director) for the first time face-to-face on Friday, and I am really looking forward to that.

Have the next two days off, and I plan to sleep in. I've been working very late nights the past three days and feel like a truck hit me. It's floorset time and we're frantically trying to make the store look its best! But now I can sleep. Heh. Will probably hang out with the mom a bit and stay at the house, but I'm not sure.

Off to either attempt being productive or to go to bed. Most likely trying to be productive. I'd like to get some more words in over the next couple of days to give me a cushion to start February! Either way, I hit my goal four full days before the end of the month! Yay!

Good night!

Yay!

So, as I told my beloved [livejournal.com profile] bookofdays in a text this afternoon, I think I may have the beginning of a real novel started. I bought yet another new notebook the other day at Barnes and Noble, and at about 11 pm last night, I had the urge to just scribble in it, and I actually wrote about two full handwritten pages in it. I think I have a short prologue done, and the start of a first chapter begun. The plot has been in my head for at least three, if not four or five years, and I've had characters lightly fleshed out, but now, it seems to be coming together. It's a crime novel, with a full on murder and crime scene team.

The entire thing both scares me and thrills me at the same time. I have got to freakin' do this, or I'll never know if I could have. Somewhere deep down, I think I have some talent for it,. but it's the actual execution that I am unsure of.

I may end up doing a filter for the rambling about this project, which at the moment, is titled Imperceptible, but we'll see how long that lasts. I may do a filter so you poor people don't get bored.

Oy. Bed now. Back to work at 8 am. Gonna be a long weekend, as store is doing an additional 40% off sale. Meep.

Good night. Forgive my silly late night rambling.

Eep!
