Buster!

So this baseball boy right here? He's one of my favorite boys in the whole world. His name is Buster Posey.

He got hurt in a game last night and is possibly out for the rest of the season with a broken leg and torn ligaments in his ankle. I am so praying that he isn't going to be out the whole time, though. Sigh. Stupid Marlins. I am heartbroken that Buster is injured and sad for my boys. I wrote more about the whole thing over on my baseball blog.

Sad me is sad. =(

But...baseball boy in my icon (Eli Whiteside) now takes over as starting catcher and will be awesome. I <3 the Eli to pieces.

Real update soon. I have been badly neglecting this place. Busy with other things, I suppose. Kitten, school, work, etc. Back soon. Really. I swear.

Buster!

Things have been crazy busy lately. Work stuff, traveling for work, and lots of excellent personal stuff happening.

The biggest thing is that I've been searching for a new place to live come this summer, and as of today, unless something majorly drastic happens, my offer on a two-story townhouse was accepted! I signed the paperwork and gave the first $2000 up for the deposit. I'm so excited. It was the place I wanted, and I knew it was the right place as soon as I saw it. It's got an ideal upstairs with the perfect spot for my computer desk (for Chris the HP) and writing stuff. I'm really happy. And again, unless something weird happens in escrow, the place is mine. Plus, it's a bit closer to work and in a great neighborhood/complex. Plus, the offer the seller accepted was way lower than we thought they'd take, plus they're kicking back a bit of the closing cost! I'm feeling oddly accomplished with my first home buying...and I'm feeling like a grown-up. Heh. My family has been so awesome with the help, and they're just as excited. Same goes for my co-workers and good friends, who have been so excited for me and have been just as anxious as I have for any news on the offers and the places I'd found. I'm grateful for a lot of the people in my life.

So yeah, the next two months are going to be very busy as the escrow process occurs and I hope and pray nothing goes south. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for days, methinks. I am happy, but cautious.

Random things: Glee rocks. Just...it's awesome. I'm just in love with it. Meep.

And Sunday night's Academy of Country Music awards? Freakin' awesome. Let's put it this way, Song and Single of the Year and Top Vocal Group? The right winner won and I may have cried for said winner. Same goes for Record of the Year and Female Vocalist. Totally deserved. A bit bitter about Male Vocalist and Entertainer, but I digress on that. Moreso bitter about Entertainer of the Year. Seriously?! Coughcough. Also, Top New Artist was deserved too...the artist makes me smile a lot. Heh.

So yeah, busy busy times. I love it. =)

Happy!

Things are--really good right now. I seriously love my job and my co-workers. I keep saying this is the happiest I've been in a long time. I work for a great, great company, and I work with awesome, fun people, including a great boss. I once again look forward to going to work--something I haven't felt in a very long time. Yay.

And the writing for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout is fantastic. I'm up about 1600 words for the month so far, and I've written every day. I now have 14 pages written for the novel, and I am also working on Reasons Why. Speaking of the Reasons Why 'verse, I've been puttering aorund with making a fanmix for it, and last night/very early this morning, I finished making the playlist and the front and back covers for it. I might upload the songs and post them at my fic community ([livejournal.com profile] bigblckofcheese later today.

But yeah, the writing is very productive, and I love it. I make it a focus (being that that word is my word of 2009) to come home from work and write, and it's becoming so easy to keep myself disciplined to do it on a daily basis. I am sure I'll slack off somewhere along the line, but for now, I am doing well.

Have the day off, and I'm going to just putter around today. Need to call Mom, as she had more dental surgery yesterday and I haven't talked to her. Talked to Dad, as he took her this time, but not the mom. Am also going to sync Timmy the iPod and get some new music on him today.

Hmm...speaking of Timmy, the MLB network did two interviews with the most adorable SF Giant ever. Heh. Tim is so fantastic and so darn cute! I can't wait for the 2009 season to begin. I think Dad and I might try to go to a Spring Training game, but we're not sure yet.

Need to go wash dishes and be productive. So yeah--off to do that. And finish listening to the Dan Patrick Show podcast. Heh.

Have a good day!

The call I was hoping for did come today. I have a brand new job with a fantastic company. I am a co-manager, which suits me just fine, because the store manager is awesome, and I liked her very much.

So yeah--I got officially job offered, and I will start on January 5th, 2009.

Eeee! I am so relieved and happy. I am thankful, that's for sure.

Thank you all again for the encouragement and hope and good vibes. You are all so appreciated--and I hope you know that!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Lots of love to you and your families!

As of right now, it looks like I have a new job. I should be getting a concrete job offer later today--Friday at the latest. They are trying to work out a salary and my (probable) new boss will hopefully call back today.

But woohoo! Looking forward to a concrete job offer today sometime if things work out!

Eeee!

Hoping to post later with a confirmation. Meep! Am so beyond excited right now!'

Happy Holidays, everyone! =D

I am very hopeful after the interview this morning. I think I did well and made a good impression, even if by phone!

I have my fingers crossed. I should know no later than Monday about the job. Now it's the waiting game and the praying and hoping.

Meep. Thank you all for the kind encouragement yesterday--you all have no idea how much it means.

I also know that I have other options should this job not come to pass, but I just know that I did well today and have a great chance to get this position set.

Here's hoping! Thanks again for the love and kind words. I love you all!

Got a call this morning for a second interview with a really great company. I have a phone interview tomorrow morning. Yay! The faith is alive and well. And I've received some terrific encouragement lately, which has been greatly appreciated, let me tell you. So thank you very much for that!

Spent the weekend with the parents. Watched the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, got disappointed by my alma mater Fresno State. Sigh. We blew it in the second half (4th quarter in particular). Our QB sucks. Our defence sucked the second half. Sigh. Coach Hill must have been peeved--as we all were as fans! Dad and I watched football yesterday, and the mom and I went shopping and got pretty napkins (that I am currently working on napkin rings for) for Christmas Day dinner. Came home and we all watched a Dirty Jobs marathon on Discovery--being that we love and adore Mike Rowe. Heh.

Currently addicted to Darius Rucker's new album. Mom got it for $5 on Amazon, and I freakin' love it. He's always been a great vocalist, but man, this album rocks.

I've got cookie dough thawing out right now to make Christmas cookies. I need to go grocery shopping, but I really don't want to. Maybe later. Meep.

So yeah--keeping my fingers crossed. Yay!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] goddess_loki, I sent you an envelope today! You should hopefully get it by the end of the week.

Off to finish these napkin rings. Am going to put the iPod on and finish these...then maybe go grocery shopping. Sob.

Have a good day!
