Utterly addicted to John Mayer's amazing "Battle Studies". Fantastic album. Oy. So much love. Heartbreak Warfare, Half Of My Heart (w/ Taylor Swift), Assassin, Perfectly Lonely. Amazing, all of it!!!

It's been kind of a bad couple of days. Started getting sick on Thanksgiving Day, and was full blown sick on Black Friday. Yeah, hello--color me a retail grunt. I love working the holidays (and yes, I am being sincere), so being sick on Black Friday sucked. I muddled through, and still went in to wok on Saturday, obviously not feeling well. Luckily, I have a great boss who sent me home at like, 1 pm. I went straight to Urgent Care, where I then proceeded to get my ears stuck with sticks (literally), and leave with three prescriptions. Joy of all joys, back on an antibiotic, a steroid for the inflammation, and ear drops for my ears. And a nose spray. Gah!

I then proceeded to have a minor meltdown on Satruday afternoon, wherein there was a lot of crying and feeling pathetic (I hate being sick, seriously). There was also a lot of fighting with my computer, which has been having issues since McAfee decided to be stupid and reinstall itself, then proceed not to work. So yeah, Leo the Gateway essentially got a virus and died. Ugh. So during said meltdown, the parents, in an effort to keep me from being all pathetic, took me to Sam's Club. This is where I ended up buying myself a brand new HP desktop with an amazing monitor and a slimline CPU. Way cool. I admit to being in a weakened condition when I made the purchase, but I am so glad that I did. The computer's name is Chris (gah, I know. It was going to be Zach, but the name just didn't seem to fit. Heh. It was then going to be Finn, but then I remembered that that is what my mother named my Wii.) and he is so awesome.

I've spent all evening backing up my iTunes music from the old computer, and it took 16 cd's to do so, but I have all my music, apps, and podcasts back! Now, I just have to redo all of my playlists, which sucks, but it won't take long, I don't think. Then I can sync Timmy the Pod to the computer and be all up and running.

Oy...off to bed. The meds are kicking in and I know it'll kick my butt soon. Work the next couple of days, and have two days off to recover some more. I actually used sick time the last couple of days, which I never do...but I needed it.

I've been off and on sick/allergy-ish for the past week. Ended up leaving work early on Tuesday and spending most of the afternoon at urgent care. Ended up with three prescriptions for allergies/sinus infection. I've been on antibiotics and a steroid (haha, it's a good thing I don't play professional baseball! ;)) for the past couple of days and a cough medicine and nose spray as well. So yeah, fun week. Things are slowly getting better, but I have a good week and a half left of meds, so I am sticking with it. This allergy season has been seriously kicking my butt!

Work is good. I continue to say how freakin' happy I am again and I am so serious. Love. I have snarky, fun coworkers who I can really relate to and have fun at work with, and that makes all the difference in the world!

Am planning to take a couple of days off in July to go to Paso Robles for the Mid-State Fair. Lady Antebellum is doing two shows on the 27th--free with the paid fair admission, and I am so going. I may end up going by myself, but who cares! It's Lady A, and I can't pass them up. Heh.

Writing went very well again this month. Beat my spreadsheet goal by about 2,000 words, and the actual goal through [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout by about 1000 words. I am loving this challenge still, and I have about 46 pages written for the novel, and am still puttering along on Reasons Why as well. In the past two months, I've written over 34,000 words and it feels incredibly good. I feel productive and happy with writing again.

Work tomorrow 10-6:30, then spending the evening and Sunday with the parents. I haven't seen them much in the past week or so because of my schedule and my being sick. Went to the house today because Mom had scrapbooking stuff for me, and I'd burned a CD for her.

Went to JoAnn's today and bought felt for my newest little craft projects. I've had the urge to sew lately, so I'm making little felt hearts, stars, and flowers. I may send them out to people, but we shall see about that.

ESPN the Magazine has my Timmy on the cover this week, and I'm so proud. He's going to be phenomenal this year, and he's going to finally get the recognition he deserves. Granted, he's got a Cy Young award already, btut we want another one, damn it! Heee!

Off to bed now. Have to still wake up early to take meds and get ready for work. Woohoo.

Good night!

So I've been sick for over a week now. Since the day of the George Strait concert, actually. I was dead to the world on that Saturday and Super Bowl Sunday (in which, btw, the NY Giants ROCKED. Bwah.) and still not so good on that Monday and Tuesday. The overall sickinesspart of over, and now I'm left with this lingering cough. So I go to the doctor yesterday to try and get rid of said cough. The doctor tells me my cough is due to inflamed vocal cords. I was like "...", and he told me to take ibuprofen and go on as much vocal rest as I can. I was annoyed. A) I was sick, so why can't this just be a normal lingering cough? and B) I work retail. I have to talk to the clients. I can't just turn off my voice. Color me annoyed. I am a bit ashamed to say I kind of melted down after that appointment. I went home and cried and get mad and was just plain stupid. I cried most of last evening, just out of frustration about a stupid cough. Yeah hi, I'm 26 years old, really.

Thankfully I have today off as well to try and get my head back in order. I've been out of sorts lately, to be honest.

And I have writer's block. Probably one of the worst cases I've had in a long time. I want to write so badly and I've got absolutely nothing. I've spent my blockage time hunting down photos for my novel characters. On the upside, I have several people cast, which makes me happy. Now If I could just write the blasted plot, all would be good.

I've also been spending my non-writing time with a new TV obsession. And dear lord, why must I get addicted to pretty? And shows that are on The CW!?! I made the mistake of being very bored on a Tuesday evening about 4 weeks ago and watching One Tree Hill. Yeah, I admit it. I've become utterly freakin' addicted to this show. I've now got Seasons 1-4 on DVD and I've watched every episode of this new season so far as well. I'm hooked, and that's so sad. Heh. What can I say? Chad Michael Murray is hot. I hated him on Gilmore Girls, but now? Yeah, adore. I'm going to call this the David Caruso Syndrome. I seem to adore people that I used to dislike after giving them a good chance. Oy. (Speaking of the Caruso (who I still looooove and adore), CSI: Miami comes back at the end of March. Woohoo! ). But yeah, bad evil new TV addictions. Meep. I am so ashamed. Hahah.

Still addicted to "Special Company", Josh Kelley's new CD. I finally got a physical copy, and was pleasantly surprised to see which two songs his brother Charles co-wrote. They were so not the ones I was thinking they'd be. I was also glad to see Hillary and Dave on the album too. Josh gives love to Lady Antebellum. Whose album, by the way, drops on April 15th. Yippee!

Am trying to cheer myself up today, apparently. My iTunes is on shuffle and it's now playing "My Stupid Mouth". Huh. It knows me too well. Or it knows I heart the Mayer. Either way, yay.
