Heh. Awesome.
Oct. 17th, 2008 10:34 amFirst off, local boy doing extremely well in Timberlake's charity golf tournament in Vegas. Nick Watney is in first place! Nick went to Fresno State, and I actually took golf class my--junior year, I guess it was, and his uncle is the FSU golf coach. Nick would help our class out, and he was an absolute sweetheart. Good memories there, man. I have a horrible swing, but by golly I can chip a shot over a fence. Haha. But I'm definitely rooting for Nick to win Justin's tournament, that's for sure!
Second, thanks for the nice birthday wishes. I had a very nice day. Got text messages and nice comments on my MySpace from friends and had a good day. My mom and I went shopping in Clovis at the antique stores (for those who don't know, I collect vintage handkerchiefs) and had lunch, and then we met my dad for dinner later on at Claim Jumper. The parents gave me a shiny new iPod Touch, which is fantastic. It's already got a name (Timmy), and all my music and such is on it. I've been having a lot of fun with it.
Still job hunting. Still frustrated, but hanging in there.
Am getting out of the house today, dang it. Probably going to the parents' house this weekend, as I am most likely going with Dad tomorrow night to see his 7th and 8th graders play nighttime football at Central High. His 7th graders are undefeated! Yay!
Going to be productive--somehow.

I love vacation!
Oct. 17th, 2006 02:25 pmHeh. It's so nice to just be on vacation through this coming SUnday. My brain needed rest. I needed rest from my thoughts about work, at least for a little while.
So, wanted to say thank you to Nora, Vero, Jane, Annie, Jai, Gretchen, Dani, and Mary for the nice birthday wishes. They were greatly appreciated! Woo. Am now 25. Heh. The family was wonderful and I got excellent gift cards for iTunes, Target, Amazon, and Sephora. Heh. The Target one got me new CDs (Dierks Bentley's "Modern Day Drifter" and The Fray's "How To Save A Life") and half of my CSI: NY S2 dvds that I bought this morning. *g* The iTunes one has already gotten me four new songs and I have plenty more I want. Amazon is sending me two writing books that I was prusing online, and Josh Kelley's new CD. Lots of new music for me to play with. Also got nail polish, lip gloss and eye shadow from my mom and new earphones for H the iPod from my dad. And good smelly stuff from the co-workers from Victoria's Secret. The parents and I went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner, and we had ice cream and such at the house. It was very--nice.
So yes, it was a nice birthday, and I thank you guys for the nice posts. *hugs*
So yeah, have been watching CSI: NY since about 9 am. I just finsihed watching "Bad Beat", I do believe. My only annoyance is that it has Manhattan Manhunt on it, but no ep from Miami that precedes it. I know it'll be on the Miami DVDs when they come out on the 31st, but still. However, having Flack AND Horatio in the same room at the same time? Yeah, I'm in love. Hee.
And CSI: Miami last night? So awesome. Lots of Ryan time, which is always good. I can always tell when Corey Miller has done the writing, because Jonathan Togo gets air time. Heh. But he was aweosme last night, as David was, of course. Hearing Horatio say he'd lost everything got me a little misty, I won't even lie. That hurt, man.
Have been writing the past couple of days. Am about halfway through my second Izzie/Denny fic for
fic_variations, and I'm rather pleased with it. I've made my Denny a bit annoyed, and that amuses me. Once these three fics are done, I'm taking a break from challenges to focus on Horatio and Marisol. I've revamped the series again and have decided NOT to take it AU, but explore the grief a bit more. I might do a sidebar mini-series that IS AU, though. We'll see. The Supernatural series is also in the back of my head.
The muses apparently are back in business. So not cool. *g*
Am happier than I've been in awhile. A lot of things have been on my mind, mostly work related, and I'll probably share some of that in a locked, filtered post somewhere along the line. But being away from work are making things a bit more clear in my head.
Back to Izzie and Denny now, I suppose. Although I know I'll end up watching more of CSI: NY to amuse me.
