Wow...long time no post. Meep. Nothing really substantial to say, to be honest. I've been busy with work and things. Am on the hunt for my first house, and I've been spending time with the family. Work is definitely keeping me busy in many good ways, but things get stressful at the same time.

Been busy on the writing front too...there's been some definite plot progress on the novel, and I am feeling somewhat accomplished. Still on track to make my goal this year for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout. Yay! I've gotten a couple of new writing books and have really gotten a good start on a little binder of scene ideas and such. I even made a fanmix of songs for my main pairing for inspiration and it seems to be helping. I will have something substantial by the end of the year. I actually posted a small scene in a comment over at GYWO a couple of days ago..something I never thought I'd do.

The dad and I are going to pore over the Giants home schedule to pick out a few more games to attend besides the Red Sox in June. YAY baseball...I have missed it so. The dad and I are also planning to go to Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum in May...woohoo! I so look forward to seeing three of my favorite, favorite singers. And technically, speaking of Charles Kelley...I am beyond excited for Josh Kelley's upcoming country album. It is going to be fantastic as always, but Josh is an incredibly underrated artist. He's a wonderful songwriter and singer, and I really hope he finally gets the credit he deserves.

And of course, I really couldn't resist a music meme....

You can learn a lot about someone from the music they listen to. Here's the game: hit shuffle on your music player, and write down the first 25 songs that come up. No cheating or skipping songs.
25 random songs...shuffle is fuuuuuunnnn! )

It's been a good couple of days. Worked until 4 yesterday, and then the mom came by my place and we went to dinner. Then I ended up grabbing a few things from the apartment and going back to the house with her. Played with the dogs while we watched Grey's Anatomy (which may have made me laugh and get a bit teary) and flipped to Supernatural every once in awhile. The mom agrees that Jensen is hot. (Um. Duh?) Heh. I'm so proud. I've also turned my mother into the ultimate John Mayer fangirl. Hahaha. it's scary.

Spent the night at the house, and woke up with my cat sitting on top of me. Fat boy. Sheesh. Then had an eye doctor appointment with a new doctor, who recognized me from my job. I was all "..." when she took one look at me and says: "I know you!" Meep. The good thing is, my eyes haven't changed a whole lot, but I got a new prescription and a pair of new contacts to try for a week or so. I go back on the 15th for a checkup there, and we'll order my new contacts if they work well. I'm hopeful. My left eye is worse than my right eye, and my prescription is a bit odd. Then, even though my eyes were way dilated and I could hardly see, the mom and I went to lunch and then went to Clovis to go to the antique stores. For those who don't know, I collect antique handkerchiefs and have a collection of about 30-35 of them. Ended up with five new ones to go with the nine my mom just won off eBay for me. Hee. I love antique shopping.

Got to work with [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions for four hours yesterday as well. Hahaha. She amuses me when we had low traffic moments at the store. Unfortunately for me, working with her is going to suck for one reason, and one reason only: She is my writing enabler. She totally made me promise to write another series and may have forced me to push back my writing plans for H and Mari and the Winchesters. Haha. She is evil, I say. So now, I'm attempting to plot out a three fic Tony DiNozzo series, with the possible title of Reckless Beauty. Damn the enabler! Hmph. Jane, I so hate you (even though she won't see this. I'll tell her next week at work anyway...) ;)

Huh. Have listened to most of the track for Keith Urban's new album that comes out on Tuesday (eeeeeeee!!!). Am completely in love with it. He's done an awesome job and I can't wait to blast it from my car after work. The new KeithUrban.net site is also awesome, as is the fan club site. I'm a proud Monkeyville member, dang it.

Am off to putter on this dang Tony plot. I think I'm going to use Family as my theme for this too. Hmm.

Stealing a page from [livejournal.com profile] jeremybrettfan and [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions. Hee. A silly play by play of CSI: Miami 5x06, "Curse of the Coffin".

Curse of the Coffin rambles... )

Randomly? It's really wrong to have 402 songs one an iPod and still have over 16 GB left. I am never going to fill this thing up.

Also? Who told the girls of Danity Kane that they could really sing? Oh that's right, Diddy did. Gag.

Timberlake's coming to Fresno. I so want to go. Heh. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. Need to remember that.

Rach, Jason, and the kids (Vincent, Devin, and Rylie) gave me my birthday gift today. It's a gorgeous pumpkin patterned teddy bear they had made at Build A Bear. It roars when you press its paw. Hee. They also got it a little ghost tote bag. It made me grin like a fool. I need a name for it now.

Bed now. Perhaps. I have a little fic bunny in my head that is nagging. We'll see how it goes. No work tomorrow. Woo!

Night.
