almosthonestSo it looks like I'll be moving into a new apartment in the next couple of weeks. I've been wanting out of my current one for a couple of months now, and I just haven't gone hunting for a new place. Until today. I had today off and my dad came and we went apartment hunting. We went to three places, and the first one we went to looks like it is a winner. It's a bit closer to work, and right near a big park and such. I'll be taking a one bedroom this time, as opposed to the two bedroom I have right now. So yay! New place. Dad and I are going to go file paperwork on Monday and such They had an upstairs available immediately, so i might just take that one rather than see if a downstairs becomes available in the next few weeks. I still have to pay December's rent here anyway, because my lease ends on Dec. 31st. But we';ll see what they have to say on Monday. I'm kind of excited and I can't wait to be in a new place!
Work is--work. We're struggling to make business happen and it's frustrating, because while I know we've only been open for three and a half weeks, I still feel like I am failing. It's so stupid, but I just feel it. Foot traffic sucks, and it's just not going the way I had hoped, and not the way my higher ups were hoping wither. Sigh. I know there isn't a lot I can do about it, but I still feel like I am just not up to par. On the upside, I have a fantastic staff, and my team rocks. I'm still waiting to hear how my assistant manager candidate did on her interview with our DM, and then I'm hoping to hire her in time for Christmas. I need a manager that can absolutely do 40 hours a week.
I know things really can only get better with my store--this is the majorly rocky part, and I just need to muddle through and get things going however I can! It will get better, and I just have to keep telling myself that, no matter how tough it is.
I am completely in love with this song. I can't wait for Lady A's album next year. Love Don't Live Here is awesome, and Charles, Hillary, and Dave rock. I put the song on my MySpace profile too, just because I adore it. Charles has an amazing voice, but it obviously runs in the Kelley family. Josh's new album drops early next year, and I am way excited for that too!
Speaking of albums--I am so excited to run to Target on my lunch break on Tuesday to grab Keith Urban's greatest hits album "18 Kids". Not like I don't have 95% of the songs already, but hey, it's Keith. I am so road tripping to San Jose probably in February or March to see his and Carrie Underwood's tour. I think I'm going to drag the parents with me, and if they won't, I bet I can get coworker!Jess to come with me. I am beyond excited for the "Love, Pain, and the whole crazy Carnival Ride" Tour. The name made me laugh. It's so not original, but it's cute.
Spent the evening watching Gilmore Girls S7, finished that, and ended up watching Proof Of Life. I hadn't watched it in a long time. I'd forgotten how awesome that movie is, if not for the action itself, but for the simple fact that it's two of my favorite actors all in one place. Russell Crowe AND David Caruso? So happy. DC does the patented Horatio head tilt several times and it makes me laugh--considering it was way before Miami even started! Hee!
I have got to get to writing again. Ava and Ryan keep creeping into my head, as do Hannah and Tony. And Hannah and Tony seem to be meeting Horatio in the back of my brain too, because I puttered on a little future!family snippet earlier today that has Horatio meeting their daughter for the first time and Hannah asking him to be her godfather. I have NO idea where that came from, but I've now got to come up with a way H would have met Tony. Meep. I'll come up with something, and if not, I'll beg you the flist to help me.
Ugh. Off to bed now. Work 10-7, and then off Monday for apartment stuff and ATL conference call. 'Tis the week of Black Friday. Hooray!!
