I thought overall, the Emmys were a bust. I'm really not bitter about Grave Danger not winning, and I'm really not bitter about Gary Dourdan's amazing vocal talent getting beat out by freakin' Donald Trump. No, I'm not bitter. I'm also not bitter about the brilliant Hugh Laurie (who cracked me UP with his award presentation with Zach Braff) getting beat by James Spader. I mean, come ON, people. But seriously? Lost winning Best Drama was okay, I can deal with that. Bummed that Naveen didn't win (again, getting beat by freakin' Shatner? Pfft.) and that Zach didn't win.

I swear, CSI and CSI: Miami better get some love next year. I want to see hot men in tuxedoes, thanks. Thank goodness for people like Hugh Laurie for wearing said tuxedo. Dear lord with the hot. Also hot? Gary Dourdan, Zach Braff, Ben Affleck, Dominic Monaghan, Hugh Jackman, and various others. I was absolutely thrilled for Felicity Huffman, and I will honestly say I cried for her as well. She mentioned SportsNight and that thrilled me. I adore her and William H. Macy (who also looked very, very nice). I love that she got recognized for such an amazing acting job.

Oh. And on another random irritating note? What was up with Patricia Arquette winning over Mariska and even Jennifer Garner? What the crap was THAT all about?> There is no way she was a better actress than those other two. Gag.

I will also say that I sobbed all the way through the tribute to Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and Dan Rather. It was so heartfelt and yet, so sad. I couldn't help but sit on my couch bawling. It was almost painful to watch, and yet, it was one of THE best moments of the evening.

Again, Gary singing "Movin' On Up"? Awesome. He did a wonderful job, and his voice is gorgeous. He looked fabulous. Ans on a CSI note? Marg looked amazing too. I wish Billy had actually shown up. I never saw he, George, Eric, or anyone else, so I wonder if they went at all! I was also surprised that my beloved Ryan was nowhere to be seen. I miss the blasted Seacrest, people. Sob.

So I was up WAY too late last night (Saturday). Got home at 1:45 this morning (Sunday) after being at a party for Rachael's birthday. I booked ot out of work and got to Rach and Jason's house just before 8 pm. Myself, Jen, Sue, Lydia, and several other friends of theirs had a good time talking and catching up and generally having a good time. I ended up talking with Rach and Jason for an hour after everyone else left. It was really nice. I adore those two like they were my own family. They are such awesome people and I am so lucky to know them and to have had BOTH of them support me through college and through work stuff. So yes, a good time was had, and I was out very, very late. Heh.

The dad and I went to see "Just Like Heaven" today and it was really good. I liked it. Saw the trailer for "Elizabethtown" and may have grinned stupidly at the pretty Orlando. Saw the trailer again, for Rent, and got weepy. I've never been a huge fan, but I know the story and am looking forward to the film version. Went book shopping afterward and got two new writing books. One on creating stronger characters and one on writing a mystery novel. I'm hoping to sit down on Tuesday, my next day off, and banging out the rest of my characters for my crime novel. Because it really needs to get done, and I want it to start getting fleshed out instead of just sitting in my brain doing nothing. Eep.

Dude, the new Josh Kelley CD is awesome. I am addicted to it and his amazing voice. I am so glad I picked it up this week.

I apparently get long-winded when I'm exhausted, so I'd better go to bed now. Working 1-10 tomorrow, but I plan to get out by 9:40 so I can book it home. CSI: Miami premiere night! Horatio, Eric, Ryan, Calleigh and Alexx will all be back on my TV. Woohoo! Same goes on Thursday night with Gil, Catherine, Nick, Greg, Sara, and Warrick. YAY!

Good night.
