Terribly vexed...
Jan. 5th, 2007 07:20 pmI really hate it when I misplace notebooks. I've got tons of them, and the one I really, really need is nowhere to be found. It's got my entire Horatio/Marisol series in it, and I can't find it. I'm vexed by this. Grr. I finally had the urge to start the blasted thing, and I can't find my notes! I have each planned fic saved as .doc files, but I didn't have the brain to type in the plot for each when I did that! Argh!
Hmph. The Horatio muse finally calls to me again, and I cannot deliver. I weep, man. Hopefully he'll stick around and I'll be able to find my dang notebook.
However, I am starting to think about posting the start of my NCIS fic, but only if I can polish it a bit more. I think I need to flesh it out a bit, and even then, it's not that terrific anyway. But I'm enjoying writing Tony. I think he lives in my head now. And that scares me. I did, however, have a Gibbs moment at work the other day and really wanted to headslap someone, but I resisted the urge. Heh.
Day off today, and the Dad and I went to the movies to see "Freedom Writers". It's an awesome movie. Very inspiring. Hilary Swank is really terrific in it. We grabbed a quick lunch and he dropped me off at my apartment. I puttered on an old fic for a bit, and got bored. Ended up at Barnes and Noble, where I left with the special edition of Josh Kelley's "For The Ride Home". I now have all three of his albums, and am more in love than I was already. Almost picked up Snow Patrol's cd too, but held off. I think I'll end up at Target sometime soon grabbing that one and Nelly Furtado's. Huh. I have a random, eclectic taste in music. Weird, that.
Feeling a bit cranky the past few days, and I don't know why. Last night at work sucked, but I'd rather not get into that.
I know what really irritates me. Newpapers, wire services, and tv reporters that keep saying that flags are at half-mast. They're not half-mast unless you're on a damn ship, you morons! Use your AP Stylebook. It's your blasted friend. I'm almost three years out of college, and I STILL know that. I think I'm oddly glad that I didn't continue on with the journalism thing--it might have killed me already. Hee.
The Dad and I watched the greatest football game EVER in the Boise State/Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl. Dear LORD, but Boise rocked socks. We were freakin' screaming. Fantastic game.
In other gushy sports notes from me...my Giants are going to ROCK this season. I hope, anyway. We got Barry Zito! Am totally psyched. Maybe we won't completely suck.
I am full of random this evening. I'm all fidgety. Off to hunt for my notebook. The Horatio calls to me. And sometimes this is good, and sometimes this is bad. Get the pretty out of my head.
And hi to new friends. Forgive the rambling! ;)
Good night!
