So let me wax poetic about my beloved Giants. They may totally suck overall this season, but by god, they freakin' WON last night. For the past two weeks, all I've been saying, in anticipation of two days off and going to see my team play, is "I just want them to freakin' win." And I didn't think it was too much to ask. And they so came through. Sigh. Happy, I am.
Dad and I went up to SF around 11 am, and got there around 2:30 or so. We went to the Golden Gate Bridge and took photos, then went shopping at Pier 39 as usual. I got my first Giants team jersey, and ironically, the nifty black and orange one I chose had "Schmidt 29" on the back, so who was I to resist that? I wore that sucker proudly ALL night, and I'm so wearing it all day today as well.
But seriously? Jason Schmidt rocked last night. He pitched brilliantly, and he was 100 feet in front of me. The seats my mom won for Dad and I on ebay were amazing. My gorgeous, gorgeous Mike Matheny was also 100 feet in front of me, and I may have squealed many times. His throwing out of--oh, I don't remember, at 2nd was brilliant, and he totally threw the helmet off. Who me, squeal about that? Nah. Eep.
My boys played a fabulous game last night, and I was so excited to be there. I got a decal for my beloved Ben (my car), a set of team baseball cards (and lucky me, I snagged one that actually HAD Mike in it), and an orange Giants bracelet that I am now wearing with my yellow LiveStrong one. Dad took good photos for me, so I'm making baseball icons as soon as Mom uploads the pics. #22, baby. Heh.
It was a wonderful day yesterday, and I plan to spend today kicking back and relaxing before going back to work tomorrow. I'm headed back to my apartment in a little while, where I believe my copy of True Vinyl should be in my mailbox. Heh. Eric. I also plan to spend today listening to Jason Greeley's CD. Yay.
Am off. Everyone have a good day!
