Grammy thoughts...
Feb. 24th, 2003 11:50 amNow that I've watched my tape of the Grammys, I just have a few comments.
-Yay for Norah. She's awesome and really deserved her recognition. Although I do wish she'd have been spared the Best New Artist Grammy.
-John Mayer. How cute is he? I was so proud of him and very glad he won a Grammy. He's so humble and gracious, and I adore him. May have gotten teary-eyed, but "I'll never tellll".
-*NSYNC. Awesome. They were gorgeous and amazing. I adore them so much. Lance is beautiful as he always is. BUT! Their performance was terrific and I loved it.
-Woo! Avril SUCKS! Enough said. So does Vanessa Carlton, who needs to learn to carry a tune.
-Chicks Rule! I do wish they'd have performed "Travelin' Soldier", though, because that song is so amazing. And no one does it better than they do. But they sure deserved the Grammy awards for "Home" and for "Long Time Gone" and for "'Lil Jack Slade". (and on a side note, Natalie and Adrian standing up for Eminem? Priceless. heh).
My favorite performances:
Norah Jones, John Mayer, *NSYNC, Dixie Chicks, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, James Taylor/Yo Yo Ma, NY Philharmonic/Coldplay, No Doubt.
So yay. Good Grammys. Would have liked to have seen Justin win for LILY, but alas. *g*
OH! But I DID get teary when I found out (thanks, V) that Howard Shore got the Grammy for the Fellowship score. Woo! I'm so glad, since the Oscars screwed him over, the bastards.
Got out of classes early today. Paul cancelled class this afternoon, so go me. Will get to write this afternoon, methinks.
