has been hardened like a stone...

Still in love with "Love Don't Live Here". I finally heard it on the radio last night and I may have squealed out loud. It's nice to hear it on something other than XM Radio or H the iPod. Apparently, Lady A's album will drop in April, but that is not confirmed yet. Meep. Want it now!

On another music note, the mom and I are for sure going to San Jose on March 11th to see Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood. I am beyond psyched! Plus, my sis [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions and I are going to see George Strait on Feb 1st. I'm excited, as I've never seen George in concert, and Josh Turner is the opener. Yippee!

Since it's been awhile, I did get the new apartment and I have been busy moving my stuff from this place to the new one. It's a slow process, but thankfully I have this Thursday and Friday off, so the dad and I are going to get a bunch more done. I have to call PG&E tomorrow and get power switched to my name, and I really need to get my phone # switched to the new address and order DSL. Because I'd really like to DL stuff again, thanks. This dial-up has been okay for the last two years, but now, I want faster internet. Sheesh! But the new place is very cool, and I need to go put up my little faux Christmas tree. Heh. I also plan to really put stuff on the walls this time. I have my LotR trilogy posters, my Princess Bride one, and my three John Mayer ones. Plus, I have got to finally frame my college diploma and put it up. I have framed photos on my bookcases already. I have two of me and my beloved [livejournal.com profile] bookofdays, the one of me and Bryan, the one of me and my parents at my college graduation, and several of my niece Rylie.

Work is--stressful. It's the holidays, and business hasn't been great. We're getting better, and things are turning around. I have a great team, and I have lots of support from Rach, which helps. I still feel so much like a failure so far, but it's a learning and growing process still, and I can't take it so hard and so personally. I know this, and yet it still hurts and it is still so dang frustrating. But it'll get better, and we already have so many regular clients. I have to do some serious hiring in the next couple of weeks, as I need some more associates to work the sales floor. Plus I still need an assistant manager, and the overall search isn't going as well as we'd like. We'll see what happens!

I'm utterly addicted to Clash of the Choirs, and voted 8 times for Blake Shelton's choir and twice for Patti LaBelle's tonight. Blake's choir rocked last night AND tonight, man. Nick Lachey's, however, was not so good tonight. The soloist was okay, but overall, the song choice didn't work, and I love me some Garth Brooks. I have to remember to have the mom TiVO the ep tomorrow night, since I'll be at work until 11.

I have a feeling I'll end up sleeping at the new apartment tomorrow night, as I keep coming home to jerks who park in my parking spot and there is like, no spots available around this place after 9 pm. Sigh. If the car is still there when I get up tomorrow, I am leaving a nasty note this time. And then, I'll have it towed if I have to. I keep a list of license plate #s. Heh. It's really obnoxious that people can't see the green curb that says Reserved on it. I hate stupid people. Grr.

It's been raining since 9 am, and it's nasty outside. My shoulder is killing me tonight. Age 26 and falling apart. Heh. I need to go take an Advil and go to bed. Thankfully, I don't have to be at work until 2 pm. I'll be doing some more packing and cleaning so I can finally get the heck out of this place and into my brand new one, where I won't have the damned parking issues!

Off to bed. Or to write. Because my brain is working overtime. ;) Good night!
