(Not really, of course, but hey.)

Oh what a GREAT Valentine's Day THIS is going to be.

Got up at 4:30 am to use the restroom. Was going back to my room when I saw this tiny flame, heard a "poof!" and saw smoke. My digital cable box literally has blown something. So I was like, great! But we think now it was really a power surge, which killed my cd player ACROSS THE ROOM! my cd player won't work now, and gee, guess what three CDs are stuck in it! My Fellowship and TTT soundtracks and Golden Road. I am absolutely sick right now. My three favorites. And if they're stuck in there, I don't have the money to replace all three. And Keith was a gift, no less, which makes me want to scream and throw something at the wall.

Of course, a thing in the computer room (where my mom's computer is) blew too, so the wall is like, black. So you can BET the power company and cable companies are getting out here. Today. Or I'm going to be tweaked.

I really want to cry, but I'm freakin' 21 years old. I so shouldn't cry about this, but it literally makes my heart hurt.

I hate this. I hate that the stupid power had to surge and that it fried my cable box and my cd player. I can't call the service place until 9 and it's only 6 am. Argh.

Today sucks. And I highly doubt it's going to get any better. Work already got cancelled.

Valentine's Day really sucks.

Things are a bit better. After spending a lot of time on the phone this morning, I ended up calling Sam's Club, where my parents got the CD player in November. They said they'd replace it with a new one! So Mom and I packed up my system, took it back, and got a new one. They also were able to get my CDs out of the old system, so that is of the good. I feel a ton better.

Today has not exactly been an ideal Valentine's Day. Had to replace my stereo system, am not going to have a new cable box until sometime tomorrow, and--yeah. I need to stop complaining.

Why? Because my mom got me a pretty bunch of baby carnations, and my dad bought me a new link for my Italian charm bracelet that has a red 21 on it. So that's good. And, I have an amazing, supportive best friend who was a godsend this mornimg. Sheesh. I am very lucky. That, and there was much Viggo/Bean love this morning! Of course, I went back and read all my favorite fics. Heh. It cheered me up!

So yeah, will be listening to my CDs and reading tonight. No TV for me. Am bummed, but hey, it's better than my bedroom catching on fire, which could have happened if the cable box had flared up more. LOL. Maybe I'll get the chance to work on a fic or something. Lord knows I could use to write more of my boys. Hee. Or, I could--well, yeah.

Am off to occupy myself with something. Happy Valentine's Day, all.
