What a morning!
Well, Vero is now getting to California at 7:20 tonight. Her friend got lost on the way to the airport and she missed her flight. Luckily, she was able to get another flight that connects from Ottawa to Chicago to San Jose, but it's not for now three hours in Canada. So counting all the time differences, she won't get to SJ until 7 pm.
Luckily she text messaged my cell phone first, and I jumped out of bed and it said to check email. Had an email from her, and I TM'ed her back and told her to call me.
So yes, I have heard from her this morning. She's really upset, but okay. We're not going to be able to show her San Francisco, unfortunately, but hey. We're going to take her to dinner tonight, and drive home. We won't get back to my house until--probably around 11:30-midnight.
I'm really, really excited to see her, though. Even though myself and my parents were looking forward to showing her SF, at least she will be here and okay! Plus, Jane and her and I are going to Monterey on Monday. So maybe we'll do Carmel as well and give her the runaround, eh, Jane? Heh. And maybe Sunday, I'll take her up to the casino for lunch and stuff. We'll figure something out. I'm just glad she's still coming. Really happy they were able to find her a new flight and that she'll still be here today! Whee! My best friend will be here soon!
Of course, this dilemma (thank you Nelly and Kelly for showing me how to spell that) means that I'll end up shopping in Gilroy with the parents for a couple of hours. Evil, that is! (but better than prices in SF! So there IS compensation! Bwhaha)
