Well, not really. In a way, it is, though. I've been crazy busy these last two weeks. The trip to Oregon was fantastic, and I learned a lot, and got to be very good friends with a fellow store manager. We had fun and both got a lot out of the coaching and training we received. I got home on Thursday night, had Friday off, worked Saturday, had Sunday off, and then worked Monday. Then for the past two days, Rachael and I have been in San Jose for SM meetings. Again, we had some fun, and talked a lot, and learned some new stuff. So yes, the past two weeks have been very eventful and learning-filled.

And now, I work tomorrow and the weekend, and Monday, then Tuesday is Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood in San Jose, and have Wednesday off. Speaking of concerts, [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions and I and our friend/co-worker Jess are going to Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts in April. Woohoo. Gary and the boys are coming back! Our tickets aren't great, but hey, who cares. It'll be fun.

Still haven't done any writing. It's starting to vex me. I have, however, been revisiting Horatio and Marisol. It doesn't help that the new CSI: Miami tie-in novel has two pages and the final paragraph devoted to their relationship. I may have gotten teary, and I may have copied it into my written journal. Ahh, the memories. But back on the writing front, I really want to work on my original stuff, and like I said last week, I have so many bunnies and the muse eludes me constantly. Damn muse.

Sigh. Brett Favre, you are my hero. We will miss you. Sob.

My bed is starting to look good again, since I really have nothing of substance to say. Haha. I go try and sleep again.

So I've been sick for over a week now. Since the day of the George Strait concert, actually. I was dead to the world on that Saturday and Super Bowl Sunday (in which, btw, the NY Giants ROCKED. Bwah.) and still not so good on that Monday and Tuesday. The overall sickinesspart of over, and now I'm left with this lingering cough. So I go to the doctor yesterday to try and get rid of said cough. The doctor tells me my cough is due to inflamed vocal cords. I was like "...", and he told me to take ibuprofen and go on as much vocal rest as I can. I was annoyed. A) I was sick, so why can't this just be a normal lingering cough? and B) I work retail. I have to talk to the clients. I can't just turn off my voice. Color me annoyed. I am a bit ashamed to say I kind of melted down after that appointment. I went home and cried and get mad and was just plain stupid. I cried most of last evening, just out of frustration about a stupid cough. Yeah hi, I'm 26 years old, really.

Thankfully I have today off as well to try and get my head back in order. I've been out of sorts lately, to be honest.

And I have writer's block. Probably one of the worst cases I've had in a long time. I want to write so badly and I've got absolutely nothing. I've spent my blockage time hunting down photos for my novel characters. On the upside, I have several people cast, which makes me happy. Now If I could just write the blasted plot, all would be good.

I've also been spending my non-writing time with a new TV obsession. And dear lord, why must I get addicted to pretty? And shows that are on The CW!?! I made the mistake of being very bored on a Tuesday evening about 4 weeks ago and watching One Tree Hill. Yeah, I admit it. I've become utterly freakin' addicted to this show. I've now got Seasons 1-4 on DVD and I've watched every episode of this new season so far as well. I'm hooked, and that's so sad. Heh. What can I say? Chad Michael Murray is hot. I hated him on Gilmore Girls, but now? Yeah, adore. I'm going to call this the David Caruso Syndrome. I seem to adore people that I used to dislike after giving them a good chance. Oy. (Speaking of the Caruso (who I still looooove and adore), CSI: Miami comes back at the end of March. Woohoo! ). But yeah, bad evil new TV addictions. Meep. I am so ashamed. Hahah.

Still addicted to "Special Company", Josh Kelley's new CD. I finally got a physical copy, and was pleasantly surprised to see which two songs his brother Charles co-wrote. They were so not the ones I was thinking they'd be. I was also glad to see Hillary and Dave on the album too. Josh gives love to Lady Antebellum. Whose album, by the way, drops on April 15th. Yippee!

Am trying to cheer myself up today, apparently. My iTunes is on shuffle and it's now playing "My Stupid Mouth". Huh. It knows me too well. Or it knows I heart the Mayer. Either way, yay.

Nothing says comfort on a freezing cold night like Josh Groban on my iPod and my big Piglet mug of cinnamon apple tea. It's so freakin' cold here, man.

Finally sucked it up today and got my hair cut. It's all short and layered and it's actually really cute. I can still wear my headbands and look girly, which is of the good. All the coworkers who saw me today when I came back to work at 4 to do the rest of my split shift loved it. It's kind of funny. I guess I've looked the same for so long that when I change, I go big. The best part is I hardly have to do anything to my hair. I can put a little anti-frizz stuff on it and let it go all curly. I become a Hobbit yet again. Hee. I really like the cut, so for once in my life, I'm pleased about my hair. I just need to color it again, but we'll see.

Timberlake concert is tomorrow night, and I am so psyched. Lallen, Erika, and Erika's cousin and I are all meeting for dinner before the show, which should be fun. The concert is going to rock. I can't believe the show came this quickly! Whee! Am trying to put together my concert outfit now. Meep. Bought a cute new purse at the store tonight to go with it, though. I'm so bad.

Is it April yet for the Josh Groban concert?!?

Forgot to set tape for NCIS tonight, so I'll go out to the parents' house this weekend and watch it on their On Demand. Because I can't handle not getting my weekly Tony fix. Speaking of TV, the previews for CSI: Miami next Monday? Awesome. It's going to be a good one.

On a random note, Hugh Laurie was adorable on the Golden Globes last night (they showed his speech on the news this morning, thankfully, as I missed him last night!), and my beloved Jeffery Dean Morgan looked dynamite with the rest of the cast of Weeds. I do love good looking men in tuxedoes and suits.

I am way too awake to have been up since 5:30 this morning and to have been to work twice and have done shopping and errands too. I think I'll go stare blankly at my fic and see if the muse wants to play for awhile.

Good night.

So last night, I went out to dinner with [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions, [livejournal.com profile] wiccagirl24, and [livejournal.com profile] dragonessasmith. We went to Applebee's, had terrible service, and had tons of fun. These three girls totally made my night. I think I may have three enablers and this is very, very bad. I'm really glad I got to meet these two. You guys need to visit more. MORE, I say! And for the record, I went home and had a big glass of water because (wait for it..) I was parched. Snerk.

We talked about music, movies, TV, writing, everything. I want to steal Sarah's brain, though. Actually, both new friends' brains. They are seriously brilliant. I'm immersing myself in [livejournal.com profile] dragonessasmith's fic, and it's awesome and amazing. Would kill to have that kind of skill.

Woo! Have this weekend off, and it's kind of nice to not have to worry about selling clothes or anything. Am headed to go shopping at Old Navy after I wash my hair and such. I need to clean up my apartment as well, so I think I'd better head off to do that first. My bedroom is a lost cause, but my living room needs to be picked up, in case the Dad brings my new entertainment center this weekend. I am in desperate need of more room for my DVDs. I have too many boxed sets of TV shows. Which reminds me that I need to go pick up S6 of Gilmore Girls.

Could it be anymore cold here!?! That is all.

Have a good day!

My alma mater and its freakin' basketball team are so on my crap list tonight. I was flipping channels at around 8:45 to find Supernatural on and I figured they were showing a repeat before the new ep at 9, so I keep watching and I realize that I've never seen this particular ep. I then realize that what is going on on the screen is exactly what the spoilers referred to for tonight's NEW episode.

Yep. They aired Supernatural's latest ep at 8 pm here instead of 9 pm. So not cool. I watched maybe the last 15 minutes and have NO clue what happened at the beginning. Fresno State is not on my happy list right now. Bastards.

So I watched Grey's Anatomy fully tonight instead of frantically flipping between channels. Argh. Great ep, though! I love this show.

On the up side, my day off was spent with my mom and my dogs, and watching NCIS and CSI on their plasma TV. Michael Weatherly on a big screen=happy, happy!me. Today was nice and quiet, and in my parents' warm house. Heh.

Work tomorrow, and then I have the weekend off... (woohoo!) Am hoping to catch up with [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions and hopefully meet up with [livejournal.com profile] wiccagirl24 for the first time! Yayness!

Off to bed now. Good night.

I have the greatest best friend in the whole wide, world. Hee. I got home to my apartment after work today and found a box on my doorstep. Inside were the coolest Christmas gifts. Hee. V got me a bright pink CSI: Miami pillow and a CSI: Miami logoed shot glass. Am totally psyched! Also inside was a lovely new notebook that will be put to excellent use. ;)

Have started to revamp my Tony DiNozzo fic already. I am so indecisive and I keep finding little things I don't like, and feel the urge to fix. A bit of backstory here and there, and an addition here or there as well. And on another writing note, I finally found the notebook I was missing with my Horatio/Marisol series in it. Eep. I was extremely releived and proceeded to type the notes into Word. Heh.

Work's been kind of slow lately, and we get bored, so we tend to buy stuff. Sheesh. We got a ton of new stuff in today, and I bought new headbands. I am a nerd, apparently. And in other work news, it looks likt eh new store will officially be mine come September. We're just waiting on a real announcement in a few more months from our regional VP. I guess, though, it's making the rounds among the stores that the new one is going to be mine, because whenever I seem to talk to another manager, they're all excited to say stuff to me. That's odd. Hee. But it's kind of cool. We'll see what really goes on. Working tomorrow closing, and doing inventory with Rach on Wednesday night until midnight, woohoo!

My fingers are numb from the cold again. This sucks. Am off to watch more of the Ohio State game and to warm up.

New Miami tonight! Eee! The red-haired boyfriend looks goooood in the promo, as always. As does the Togo, who is always hot, thanks.

Good night.

I really hate it when I misplace notebooks. I've got tons of them, and the one I really, really need is nowhere to be found. It's got my entire Horatio/Marisol series in it, and I can't find it. I'm vexed by this. Grr. I finally had the urge to start the blasted thing, and I can't find my notes! I have each planned fic saved as .doc files, but I didn't have the brain to type in the plot for each when I did that! Argh!

Hmph. The Horatio muse finally calls to me again, and I cannot deliver. I weep, man. Hopefully he'll stick around and I'll be able to find my dang notebook.

However, I am starting to think about posting the start of my NCIS fic, but only if I can polish it a bit more. I think I need to flesh it out a bit, and even then, it's not that terrific anyway. But I'm enjoying writing Tony. I think he lives in my head now. And that scares me. I did, however, have a Gibbs moment at work the other day and really wanted to headslap someone, but I resisted the urge. Heh.

Day off today, and the Dad and I went to the movies to see "Freedom Writers". It's an awesome movie. Very inspiring. Hilary Swank is really terrific in it. We grabbed a quick lunch and he dropped me off at my apartment. I puttered on an old fic for a bit, and got bored. Ended up at Barnes and Noble, where I left with the special edition of Josh Kelley's "For The Ride Home". I now have all three of his albums, and am more in love than I was already. Almost picked up Snow Patrol's cd too, but held off. I think I'll end up at Target sometime soon grabbing that one and Nelly Furtado's. Huh. I have a random, eclectic taste in music. Weird, that.

Feeling a bit cranky the past few days, and I don't know why. Last night at work sucked, but I'd rather not get into that.

I know what really irritates me. Newpapers, wire services, and tv reporters that keep saying that flags are at half-mast. They're not half-mast unless you're on a damn ship, you morons! Use your AP Stylebook. It's your blasted friend. I'm almost three years out of college, and I STILL know that. I think I'm oddly glad that I didn't continue on with the journalism thing--it might have killed me already. Hee.

The Dad and I watched the greatest football game EVER in the Boise State/Oklahoma Fiesta Bowl. Dear LORD, but Boise rocked socks. We were freakin' screaming. Fantastic game.

In other gushy sports notes from me...my Giants are going to ROCK this season. I hope, anyway. We got Barry Zito! Am totally psyched. Maybe we won't completely suck.

I am full of random this evening. I'm all fidgety. Off to hunt for my notebook. The Horatio calls to me. And sometimes this is good, and sometimes this is bad. Get the pretty out of my head.

And hi to new friends. Forgive the rambling! ;)

Good night!

Forgive the rambling! ;)

Good night!

Christmas 2007 is pretty much over, and it sure was a great one. Spent Christmas Eve at work until 2 pm. The girls at work are funny. Rach gave me a pair of jeans that I wanted, and a cute Care Bear pencil case filled with pens and little notebooks, and a Care Bear watch. Bwhaha. Larissa gave me a scarf and comfy slipper socks, and Erika gave me socks and a gift card to Gloria Jean's coffee. Elida gave me an adorable Daisy Duck plush, which made me giggle. I then came home at around 3:20 to kick back with the family. My uncle came over at about 4, and we were opening stuff and eating by like 5:30.

From the parents, I got silver earrings and a matching necklace, a great set of scrapbooking stuff, a gift set of Britney's Curious perfume, a $40 gift card to Trader Joe's, a gorgeous Citizen dress watch, and a cute black Guess! purse. My parents know me too well. My uncle gave me a lavender vanilla body lotion set, and a gift pack of raisins and pistachios. Heh. So Christmas Eve was really nice, and we all sat around watching the Chronicles of Narnia on Dad's new plasma TV.

Today was spent out at my grandmother's house, where I got to see my aunt and uncles, and my cousins. Got to see my 17 month old half-cousin Isaac, who is the cutest thing. He's so adorable. Dad and I then came home, sat for a bit, and went over to meet my mom at Maggi's house for Christmas dinner. My niece Charlotte was there, all dressed up and so cute. Maggi gave me a $25 gift card to Sephora, and Kate and Charlotte gave me the special edition box set of Office Space. Heh. It came with a red stapler, which cracked me up. I love that movie. Dinner was great, and we had a nice time.

I'm so dang exhausted, though. My body is rebelling against the getting up at 3:30 am every day for the past two weeks. Ugh. I really need sleep. Was planning to stay up and watch CSI: Miami tonight, but since they're just showing "Driven" again, I figure I'm just off to bed. I have it on DVD anyway. Hee.

Bed now, but randomly? My Texans beat the Colts yesterday. Snerk. Bwhahahaha. I freakin' love David Carr, man. That totally made my Christmas!

Hope everyone had a terrific Christmas! Good night!
