that have made me happy today:

1.) The Giants kicking some Atlanta butt tonight in Game 1 of the NLDS. The Timmy with 14 Ks and Buster Posey with an SB (albeit that he really was tagged out, but oh well, ATL was SOL on that call...heh) and Cody Ross with the RBI. Lights out tonight. Gah! Good lord, I love this freakin' GAME! Eeee! My boys are in the playoffs, people. I am giddy. Giddy, I say. I am somewhere in the vicinity of the zone. Seriously.

2.) Getting good mail! Got some money back from my apartment complex and the deposit...yay! Also got my official transcript so I can finally apply for school. And--I got the writing books and new journal that I ordered on Amazon with a gift certificate I hadn't used yet. Hooray!

3.) Oh hell. Tim Lincecum. He makes me happy! (as does Aaron Rowand. I heart him. Endlessly!)

Got a call this morning for a second interview with a really great company. I have a phone interview tomorrow morning. Yay! The faith is alive and well. And I've received some terrific encouragement lately, which has been greatly appreciated, let me tell you. So thank you very much for that!

Spent the weekend with the parents. Watched the New Mexico Bowl on Saturday, got disappointed by my alma mater Fresno State. Sigh. We blew it in the second half (4th quarter in particular). Our QB sucks. Our defence sucked the second half. Sigh. Coach Hill must have been peeved--as we all were as fans! Dad and I watched football yesterday, and the mom and I went shopping and got pretty napkins (that I am currently working on napkin rings for) for Christmas Day dinner. Came home and we all watched a Dirty Jobs marathon on Discovery--being that we love and adore Mike Rowe. Heh.

Currently addicted to Darius Rucker's new album. Mom got it for $5 on Amazon, and I freakin' love it. He's always been a great vocalist, but man, this album rocks.

I've got cookie dough thawing out right now to make Christmas cookies. I need to go grocery shopping, but I really don't want to. Maybe later. Meep.

So yeah--keeping my fingers crossed. Yay!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] goddess_loki, I sent you an envelope today! You should hopefully get it by the end of the week.

Off to finish these napkin rings. Am going to put the iPod on and finish these...then maybe go grocery shopping. Sob.

Have a good day!

Yay!

Geez. iTunes is killing me. First off, they tempt me my putting my Keith's new single "Sweet Thing" on the front of the store with the What's Hot section. Becasue, woohoo, I love my Keith. And I absolutely adore the new single. I can't wait for the new album in March! Then, somehow, I find the new David Foster tribute album thing and discover a live version of "Home" done by Michael Buble and Blake Shelton. Um. Meep. THEN! They one up it and show me a duet of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" by Brian McKnight and Josh Groban. Color me dead. Just dead. So yeah, death by new music!

Speaking of music, I've been seeing a lot of people doing the Writer's Block thing about their Top 10 albums. Mine are so hard, and I am sure I have more than 10, but still. Mine aren't really in any order, but here goes:

1. Golden Road- Keith Urban
2. Continuum- John Mayer
3. Lady Antebellum- Lady Antebellum
4. Once OST- Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova
5. Almost Honest- Josh Kelley
6. Indiana- Jon McLaughlin
7. Special Company- Josh Kelley
8. Love, Pain, and the whole crazy thing- Keith Urban
9. Room For Squares- John Mayer
10. Drops Of Jupiter- Train

Honorable Mentions:
1. Call Me Irresponsible- Michael Buble
2. Between Now And Forever- Bryan White
3. Last Of Seven- Pat Monahan
4. Taking The Long Way- Dixie Chicks
5. Awake- Josh Groban

Yeah. Anyway, there's a possibility of a very big development in my life. I'm still waiting to hear more, but should this thing happen--it could potentially change a lot. I'm extremely anxious, and yet I so don't want to get my hopes up. I am keeping the faith alive, but I can't put all the eggs in one basket either. So if anyone could cross their fingers or send a good vibe, I'd be appreciative--because I actually think I want this thing to happen. I've only told my parents and [livejournal.com profile] bookofdays about this--a)for fear I'd burst with it, and b)because I know they'd be the ones to help guide me.

I've been trying so hard to write again. I have so many ideas for my novel swirling around, which is good, but now I just need to physically get myself to do this. I've been blogging a bit about it over at Blogger, which is nice for a change. I'm probably going to use it exclusively for my novel blabber, so if anyone actually wants that link, hit me up by email--I'd be glad to give it to you.

The dad and I are going to spend the day together tomorrow, which will be nice. I love my dad and I don't get to spend as much time with him as I'd like. I think we're going to putter around town and such, and talk. We'll either go for lunch, or we'll go to the house and wait for Mom and we'll go to dinner later. I'm not sure. It'll be nice to be with Dad, though--he's been my rock through this whole job thing and the depression and all this. My mom has too, of course, but my dad and I have bonded even more. I'm so close with my parents, but it seems like we're even closer now, it's funny.

Sigh. Bed soon. Need to update Timmy the Pod first, though. And speaking of my Timmy--the NL Cy Young Award is announced tomorrow. I'm so excited and anxious to see if the peeps gave it to Lincecum. I will squeal AND cry if they do. He deserves it most, damn it! Go Timmy!

Good night. Forgive my rambling. =)

First off, local boy doing extremely well in Timberlake's charity golf tournament in Vegas. Nick Watney is in first place! Nick went to Fresno State, and I actually took golf class my--junior year, I guess it was, and his uncle is the FSU golf coach. Nick would help our class out, and he was an absolute sweetheart. Good memories there, man. I have a horrible swing, but by golly I can chip a shot over a fence. Haha. But I'm definitely rooting for Nick to win Justin's tournament, that's for sure!

Second, thanks for the nice birthday wishes. I had a very nice day. Got text messages and nice comments on my MySpace from friends and had a good day. My mom and I went shopping in Clovis at the antique stores (for those who don't know, I collect vintage handkerchiefs) and had lunch, and then we met my dad for dinner later on at Claim Jumper. The parents gave me a shiny new iPod Touch, which is fantastic. It's already got a name (Timmy), and all my music and such is on it. I've been having a lot of fun with it.

Still job hunting. Still frustrated, but hanging in there.

Am getting out of the house today, dang it. Probably going to the parents' house this weekend, as I am most likely going with Dad tomorrow night to see his 7th and 8th graders play nighttime football at Central High. His 7th graders are undefeated! Yay!

Going to be productive--somehow.

Yippee! CMA nominations were announced this morning and I am beyond thrilled! My Keith got three nominations, plus one of his songs got nominated. He is nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and his album "Love, Pain, and the whole crazy thing" is nominated for Album of the Year. Plus, "Stupid Boy", written by Dave Berg, Deanna Bryant, and Sarah Buxton was nominated for Song of the Year. This is so exciting! Sarah must be thrilled.

Whee! This is so awesome. Am excited for Emerson Drive as well, nominated for Group of the Year and for "Moments".

Was up way too late last night loading more songs onto H the iPod. I put all of No Strings Attached and Celebrity on it, and I hadn't listened to either CD in so long, that I had forgotten how good these albums are. Celebrity is still my favorite. It was fun going back to high school and my first years of college with these albums. Heh.

Also went back through my LJ and was reading old, lame entries. Hee. It was kind of fun going back to 2001 and 2002. Old friends, old memories, old fics (shudder).

Speaking of fics, I need to post my second NCIS Gen fic for [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations and get started on the third and final one. I'm not going to do the next round, and I'm going to focus my energy on my Reasons Why 'verse, and Imperceptible (my novel). Plus, [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions and I are going to work on resurrecting [livejournal.com profile] pdficchallenge and get it going again. New challenges, maybe some contests, and new fandom involvement. We are open to suggestions. Heh. If all else fails, we might start a brand new community.

Had yesterday off and did absolutely nothing except finish watching S3 of House and finish my fic. Woo. Today, I have got to get out and do something. Woke up to rain and text messages. I knew the rain was coming last Saturday, but no one believed me. I said my shoulder and my hip hurt. Hey, I am the human barometer. I know, man. My shoulder never lies. Age 25 and I am falling apart. lol.

The dad and I went to SF last Saturday to the Giants/Brewers game. The Giants played excellent (I freakin' heart Omar Vizquel!) and I got to see Jack in the bullpen, but then they teased me and didn't put Taschner in the game. They played him on Sunday. Grr. But we won, and it was nice and cold, and we had a lot of fun. Wore my jersey proudly.

Was up too early this morning, and I'm so awake now. Off to attempt to be productive. Oh, Keith and "Everybody" just came on the iPod. Yay! I finally heard it on XM the other day, and I may have cried. Maybe.

Have a good day.

If I had enough energy to rant about freakin' crazy liars who lie, I would. But I don't. All I can say is that karma is going to hit someone hard soon, and it's going to be immensely ugly. And I'm going to laugh. A lot. Is it September yet?

Anyway. Just signed up for the June round at [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations, and look forward to channeling my muse this month for my NCIS claim. I'm going to write three Tony/Hannah fics this month, dang it. I need to establish my Reasons Why 'verse a bit more. I rather like the prompt too, but I'm going to need to look up all the definitions I can for it. I have obne plot already, but I need two more. Heh. I almost signed up with another claim too, but maybe I'll play with that one for July. We'll see. I need to play with [livejournal.com profile] pdficchallenge too, and come up with some new ideas and prompts there too. Maybe something during this long summer hiatus!

Am addicted to music right now. The mom bought The Village Sessions by John Mayer on iTunes last week and it so amazing. He's absolutely brilliant. 10 days until the concert! Eeee! Which means 17 days until Keith Urban! Am also addicted to the new Maroon 5 album, It Won't Be Soon Before Long. Awesome, awesome CD. Adam and the guys sound fantastic and the songs are excellent. Definitely my favorite album right now.

Work is--work. I'm going to be in San Jose in a week or so with Rach to help run an event at another store, and then in two weeks or so, we'll be headed back up there for a meeting. She's going to persuade them to let me come along, even if I am not officially promoted by then, because it's for a new clocking system that I'll need to be proficient in in order to train my incoming staff on it as well! So yeah, doing some traveling this month, with some other good things hopefully happening in June as well.

Randomly, I have discovered an odd thing for index cards. I have sticky ones, lines ones, blank ones, colored ones, etc. It's very odd. I have no idea what I am going to do with them all, but hey. I have them if I need them. Heh.

Have tomorrow off, thank goodness. The parents and I are going to go see PotC 3, woohoo! Plus, I'm sitting down and writing. Seriously. I have to.

I go to bed now. Am exhausted from the weird that was the last two days.

Good night.

A random, bullet point post. Highlights of the week, i suppose.

-Grammy nominations. Am thrilled for my beloved John Mayer, the Dixie Chicks, Justin, and my Keith. The Grammys are OK with me!

-Going to the bookstore last night to take my mind off some things going on, and snagging the new CSI: Miami novel (which I finished this morning), the new Interview magazine that has Mayer being interviewed by Kiefer Sutherland, a scrapbooking magazine, and the new Nickel Creek album, "Reasons Why".

-The ANTM finale. Was glad for the winner, but she wasn't my favorite. I blame Rach for getting me into that show. Grr.

-Got my mother to watch Supernatural last night and while I totally thought she'd like Sam best, she made sure to prove me wrong and said this morning she liked Dean a lot. This was me on the phone then: "...really?" I was shocked. She liked the show a lot, though. Hee. a couple of lines about Croatoan... )

-And a Mayer mention yet again, seeing him blog about "Gravity" being the new single made me a smile a lot "". So adorable how pleased he was! I am so glad it's following WOTWTC. Awesome choice.

-Had a bit of a writing ephipany this morning and have written a prologue for what is either going to be a long fic or a three fic series for NCIS. Buying the Nickel Creek CD gave me the title, and the lyrics of the song triggered my brain, I guess. Totally excited that the muse wanted to play again.

-Thinking about work too much again lately. I need to stop doubting things, but I also need to find out more. I'll keep worrying if I don't, but I also don't know if I will get the truth or not. Huh. I'm probably being completely stupid, but oh well. I can't help how I take things, I guess.

-Love the new Brad Paisley "holiday" song. With the Kung Pao Buckaroos in tow. Hee. It makes me laugh hysterically every time. "I can't say "ho?" "No, you might offend some...women!" Snort. And the bleeping! Love it.

Off to be productive. I swear it. Have a good day!
