Holy crap. I started writing the long suffering baseball novel yesterday. I am slowly putting together character files/sketches, but I have the names all set up and the overall team put together.

I have the opening scene mostly written and so many little dialogue pieces floating in my head.

Ultimately, my focus for 2011 is still In The Spotlight, (because it is my first love, and I can never leave Ava, Ryan, Lily, Nathan, and the rest of the story behind) but since my pledge for this year's [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout is 150K words, I thought I'd put another project into play. Right now, the baseball fic is called Stealing Second, but that is absolutely subject to change. I actually have the title 3-2 Count fluttering around in my brain, but who knows.

I also have a hankering to get back to the NCIS series and work with Tony and Hannah again this year. We shall see.

2011 is going to be great. I can feel it. I've got school starting in a week from Monday, and I've got my sweet Cody kitten keeping me happy, and I'm hoping that I will keep my job after this week. My boss is deciding which of the holiday hires to keep on. I am hopeful I will be one of them, but I also know that it's not the end of the world if he doesn't keep me on. I love my co-workers and the place of work in general, but I've already decided that if I should happen to get let go, I will get through the first month back in school, then job hunt again. With luck, I will be done with my AA degree by the end of 2011, or Spring of 2012 at the latest, and I can dive into a new career with a renewed energy toward work. But I can't lie...any good vibes you're willing to share with me about keeping my current job or at least awhile longer would be appreciated! =)

Ugh. Off to bed. Seriously. Work at 10 am.

Happy 2011 to you all! This year will be excellent for so many reasons. I have a good feeling about it. *g*

before I keel over from the effects of the NyQuil I took not long ago. Fairly sure UI am both slightly sick and dealing with an allergy attack that has taken my vocal cords over once more. At least now I know the trigger. Ugh. Anyone who knows what my voice sounds like normally--now think of it a good octave loer and all croak-y. Yeah, real attractive, let me tell you.

On the up side, at least I am not up to par this weekend instead of this coming weekend, as Dad and I are going to one more Giants game. This'll be our fifth game of the season! We've seen the Timmy three times, Randy Johnson once, and this time should be Jonathan Sanchez. Whee! If not, it'll either be Matt Cain or Brad Penny (who, by the way, was an awesome addition to our rotation!). I was hoping for Barry Zito, but perhaps next season. *g* This last game we are going to, I am going all out orange and black. May even go and get my nails done in team colors. We shall see. I have jewelry all ready, my scarf, my jersey, and black and orange ribbons for my hair AND I bought a shiny orange purse on Amazon. Meep. I am nothing if not devoted.

Work is good. We've been busy and starting to gear up for holiday. But overall, work is good and I lovelovelove it. I've made some good friends, that's for sure. Am contemplating going to Disneyland with a couple of them around my birthday, but we shall see.

Writing is still good. I've slacked the last couple of days because I haven't been feeling up to it, but I am up over at least 8000 words to where I should be, so I can afford to slack a bit. But I've had a couple of story things in my head lately, so this is a good thing. I went and bought a new laptop a couple of weeks ago. Got a nifty little red Acer netbook for a great price at Sam's Club, and I adore the thing (whose name is Aaron, I have to mention). The mom got a nifty pink zippered case for it, and I got a cooling pad, and I love it! I'm using it solely for my writing, and I'm still getting used to the tiny keyboard.

David Nail's album ("I'm About To Come Alive") came out two weeks ago and I've listened to it non-stop. Absolutely amazing CD, and I am so proud to have been a fan since the beginning. Sigh. Beyond proud of him!

And my dear [livejournal.com profile] bookofdays has gotten me hooked on the vocal talent of Christian Kane. Holy crap with the awesome voice. Adore, man.

Ugh. NyQuil is starting to settle in, as the typing has to keep getting corrected. Off to down some more echinecea and go to bed. Work at 9:30 am. Happy Labor Day. Heh.

Good night.

Went out early this morning to pick up my beloved Keith Urban's new album "Defying Gravity". It's yet another phenomenal CD, and I love every darn song. I am beyond proud to be a fan. And speaking of Keith, the dad and I are going to see Keith on July 17th, with Sugarland as the opening act. I scored floor seats yet again, even closer to the stage than the last time! Color me excited!!

Sam the Saturn getting broken into two weeks ago issue was taken care of quickly, thank goodness. They did steal my Taylor Swift and Lady Antebellum CD's, but I have replaced those. They also stole my work tote bag and work binder, so I hope they are sorely disappointed by the lack of loot in there. Haha. Unfortunately, that also meant I had to redo said binder, but I had a lot of it memorized so it didn't take as long. Summer (the boss) gave me a hard time for redoing it. Hee. It made her laugh. What can I say--I'm a bit of a geek.

Have been blogging the Giants on MLB.com. My blog is here: Well Played!" if anyone wants to read. I enjoy writing the blogs, and my parents are amused by my writing style, for some odd reason. Heh.

Speaking of writing, the [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout challenge is still going fantastic. I hit my word count goal for the third month in a row, and I've written over 50,000 words this year so far! I'm just so happy writing again. The novel is moving along and I've also written a couple of more fics and scenes for the Reasons Why 'verse. And some of the new KU music is triggering the Tony/Hannah muse. Yay!

Have also been attempting to knit, along with continuing my felt projects. The mom got me a Knifty Knitter (hahaha) and I am attempting to make a scarf on the thing. So far, so good.

Got to visit with [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions on Sunday evening, which was nice. I hadn't seen her in a while and we got to talk and such. Had a good time. I've missed her.

Am off to be productive, which means off to color my hair (which I had cut this morning after my Target run) and listen to "Defying Gravity" again.

Have a good day!

Being sick completely sucks. Unfortunately, it's been happening a lot more lately. So not cool. I suppose I should be grateful I lived through the hell that is Black Friday working retail. Working retail management, rather. Sheesh. Black Friday--well, sucked. But hey, what can you do!? I'm just glad Thanksgiving weekend is over with work. Speaking of work stuff, I suppose at some point, I'd better fill some of you guys in on the--well, big changes that are headed my way in the next, oh, 8 months or so. Actually, the big changes that are headed my way AND [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions' way. There'll be a filtered, locked post in the near future.

Thanksgiving was very nice. Spent it with my parents, of course. We had a nice dinner, and it was just good to be at home with the parents and my dogs and cats. Sigh. Then, of course, Friday and yesterday were spent at work. And yesterday, of course, I proceed to get sick again. Grr. Also slipped and fell yesterday morning and scraped up my knee like I was five again. But! I didn't rip my nice pants, so there at least was a bright side. Heh.

The parents took me out of my cold-induced dungeon today to go see "For Your Consideration", which was reallly fantastic, as are all of Christopher Guest's films. It was a good movie. We then went shopping at Trader Joe's and they dropped me back at my apartment. I then drove over to Barnes and Noble and picked up a book to read and a writing magazine.

Have had the itch to write lately, but the muses are not cooperating. However, I may have revamped my baseball!AU fic a bit and replaced a couple of people, but I'm not owning up to that yet, or else [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions might gloat. And that's not cool. ;) But I really want to write, and I have all these series in my head, and I'm beginning to pout about uncooperative muses. Grr.

Anyway. Off to warm up again and take some more DayQuil. Joy.

Good night!

So I'm completely, completely in love with "Love, Pain, & the whole crazy thing". Keith did a fabulous job on the entire album. My mom and I listened to it all day and just adore it. There's not one song that I dislike, I love it. YAY! "Stupid Boy" is just as awesome as he said it was, and "Raise The Barn" with Ronnie Dunn is fantastic. "Everybody", which he wrote with Richard Marx, is incredible. I am so proud of Keith with this album, just as I was with Golden Road and Be Here. This is an awesome CD and I am a proud, proud KU Monkey today.

And speaking of Keith, I am so pleased that he won at last night's CMAs. He deserved it, and the letter he sent was so perfect. It absolutely brought me to tears, and I'm not ashamed to say I bawled all the way through. Sheesh.

So yeah, spent this morning at Target buying LPATWCT, and S7 of The West Wing. Watched Requiem and Transition tonight, and so cried over Leo, and snickered at the return of my beloved Sam. Then spent the day with the mom, just relaxing and watching TV out at the house. It was nice.

Whacked my foot on the edge of my shower this morning and have a lovely bruise at the base of three toes. I seem to have trouble keeping my feet from getting hurt lately. I broke a toe two weeks ago on my left foot, and then last week I whacked a big cut on my right foot, and now that same foot is bruised up. SO not good when my job entails 8 hours of standing and walking. Genius, I am.

NCIS triggered something for my Tony DiNozzo series tonight. It was interesting. I freakin' LOVE Michael Weatherly, though. Tony is so endearing, and so adorable. MW just sells it perfectly!

Bed now. Work at 7 am. Good night!

Happy Halloween, everyone! Hope you all have fun today. Heh.

Today has already been productive. I'm about 100 words from finishing my final Izzie/Denny fic for [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations, and then I can post it and take a hiatus from challenges for awhile. Horatio and Marisol have been nagging at my brain more lately, and they want attention, so my "Continuum" series will begin later today, I think. My "Every Mile A Memory" series wants attention too, but the demon chasing boys and their father will have to wait awhile. Huh.

I went to Target this morning to pick up a few things, and they didn't have my CSI: Miami S4 dvds, so I'm now waiting for 10 am for Best Buy to open so I can drive over and get them. I want my red-haired boyfriend, thankyouverymuch! Best Buy better freakin' have them too. Grr.

Am still on a Josh Kelley kick. I can't get enough, man. Hee. Have kind of been on a James Blunt kick again too. I really need to upload all of Back to Bedlam to my iPod. Still addicted to The Fray right now as well. It's really, really fueled my writing today.

My mom is awesome and nabbed Justin Timberlake tickets for myself and my friend/co-worker Lallen on Friday during the radio pre-sale. The seats may kind of suck, but who cares, it's Justin! Eee! I think it's ironic that Pink is his opening act. Considering that the last time I saw *NSYNC in Oakland, Pink was their opening act. Heh. It made me laugh. So January 17th, 2007, is going to be awesome at the Save Mart Center with the Timberlake.

Got to see [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions yesterday when she came in for her first real day at work at my store. She's one of our new associates, and I'm way excited. Hee. I may have quoted the West Wing and she may have quoted it back and I think we confused Rach. Hahaha. It made us laugh. However, victory was NOT mine, and I was bummed out. Stupid window components. Grr. But her first real shift on the sales floor is...Thursday, I think, with me as manager on the floor. Yay! She also loves me and burns me music. Woo!

My iPod is on shuffle this morning, and I think H is trying to torture me with the mix he's playing. Sheesh. But I keep remembring songs I want to download the next time I'm at the parents, using the rest of my iTunes gift card. I've got $11 left, and four songs I know I want.

Finished watching Dark Angel S2 the other night. Was dead with the Jensen Ackles AND Michael Weatherly pretty. I am forever grateful to have BOTH of those guys on my screen at one time. Sigh. MW is so gorgeous in the glasses. Seriously. I have a thing for glasses on a guy.

Almost 10 now, and I am off to Best Buy. Hope everyone has a great day!

Stealing a page from [livejournal.com profile] jeremybrettfan and [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions. Hee. A silly play by play of CSI: Miami 5x06, "Curse of the Coffin".

Curse of the Coffin rambles... )

Randomly? It's really wrong to have 402 songs one an iPod and still have over 16 GB left. I am never going to fill this thing up.

Also? Who told the girls of Danity Kane that they could really sing? Oh that's right, Diddy did. Gag.

Timberlake's coming to Fresno. I so want to go. Heh. Tickets go on sale this Saturday. Need to remember that.

Rach, Jason, and the kids (Vincent, Devin, and Rylie) gave me my birthday gift today. It's a gorgeous pumpkin patterned teddy bear they had made at Build A Bear. It roars when you press its paw. Hee. They also got it a little ghost tote bag. It made me grin like a fool. I need a name for it now.

Bed now. Perhaps. I have a little fic bunny in my head that is nagging. We'll see how it goes. No work tomorrow. Woo!

Night.

First off, for mutual friends of [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions, she wanted me to let you know that she is fine and such. She got her new place and is busy trying to move in and juggle work. They're working on arranging internet access as soon as they can, but it still might take awhile to get back connected and such. You guys can still email her and stuff, but if there is anything urgent, you're welcome to drop me a line and I'll be happy to let her know of anything.

Amazon overnighted me a new package of the stuff I ordered that the USPS lost a couple of days ago. I am completely in love with the new Josh Kelley album, and I'm just more in love with his voice than ever. An awesome, awesome CD. My book on novel witing is also excellent and the book I ordered about keeping a good paper journal is kind of fascinating. Heh. New toys to play with, hooray!

The mother seems to think she may have found a potential boyfriend for me. *facepalm* Only my mom, man. But apparently he's cute, works two doors down from me at the mall, and loves the same music artists and sports teams as I do. So we'll see. Apparently, she's arranging to have him stop by the store and meet me, but I'm not holding my breath. Heh. However, should something happen, I would be open to meeting and such. It could be fun and interesting. Hmm.

My Houston Texans freakin' WON today! David Carr is my man! 27-7 vs the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hee. I'm so proud. DC (in this case, not to be confused with my beloved David Caruso) and the Texans were the Geico Play of the Day on CBS Sports, and I may have squealed out loud. Go Houston!

The Fresno State Bulldogs, on the other hand? Not on my happy list right now. But I digress.

Off to watch Game 2 of the World Series. Detroit is already playing better than last night, thank goodness.

Good night!

Heh. It's so nice to just be on vacation through this coming SUnday. My brain needed rest. I needed rest from my thoughts about work, at least for a little while.

So, wanted to say thank you to Nora, Vero, Jane, Annie, Jai, Gretchen, Dani, and Mary for the nice birthday wishes. They were greatly appreciated! Woo. Am now 25. Heh. The family was wonderful and I got excellent gift cards for iTunes, Target, Amazon, and Sephora. Heh. The Target one got me new CDs (Dierks Bentley's "Modern Day Drifter" and The Fray's "How To Save A Life") and half of my CSI: NY S2 dvds that I bought this morning. *g* The iTunes one has already gotten me four new songs and I have plenty more I want. Amazon is sending me two writing books that I was prusing online, and Josh Kelley's new CD. Lots of new music for me to play with. Also got nail polish, lip gloss and eye shadow from my mom and new earphones for H the iPod from my dad. And good smelly stuff from the co-workers from Victoria's Secret. The parents and I went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner, and we had ice cream and such at the house. It was very--nice.

So yes, it was a nice birthday, and I thank you guys for the nice posts. *hugs*

So yeah, have been watching CSI: NY since about 9 am. I just finsihed watching "Bad Beat", I do believe. My only annoyance is that it has Manhattan Manhunt on it, but no ep from Miami that precedes it. I know it'll be on the Miami DVDs when they come out on the 31st, but still. However, having Flack AND Horatio in the same room at the same time? Yeah, I'm in love. Hee.

And CSI: Miami last night? So awesome. Lots of Ryan time, which is always good. I can always tell when Corey Miller has done the writing, because Jonathan Togo gets air time. Heh. But he was aweosme last night, as David was, of course. Hearing Horatio say he'd lost everything got me a little misty, I won't even lie. That hurt, man.

Have been writing the past couple of days. Am about halfway through my second Izzie/Denny fic for [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations, and I'm rather pleased with it. I've made my Denny a bit annoyed, and that amuses me. Once these three fics are done, I'm taking a break from challenges to focus on Horatio and Marisol. I've revamped the series again and have decided NOT to take it AU, but explore the grief a bit more. I might do a sidebar mini-series that IS AU, though. We'll see. The Supernatural series is also in the back of my head.

The muses apparently are back in business. So not cool. *g*

Am happier than I've been in awhile. A lot of things have been on my mind, mostly work related, and I'll probably share some of that in a locked, filtered post somewhere along the line. But being away from work are making things a bit more clear in my head.

Back to Izzie and Denny now, I suppose. Although I know I'll end up watching more of CSI: NY to amuse me.
