Hee. TV rambling is what I do best. But randomly, I am utterly in love with the new Maroon 5 single. I cannot wait for this album. Woo!

But little rambles. The CSI: Miami love continues. As does my crush on David Caruso. The interview in TV Guide last week absolutely made me grin. He's so adorable. And I love his sense of humor about being made fun of. The Jim Carrey impersonation of Horatio made me laugh until I had tears. It was great. And DC knows it's all in good fun. It's fantastic. Something David said in the interview about Horatio also made me cry, and I am so going to use it in my Horatio/Marisol series. I swear the man lives in my brain. I love it. And I love him to pieces. But the spoilers I've been seeing for upcoming episodes has me a bit worried as to the direction they're going to take my second favorite Miami character. It's vexing me a bit. We shall see. However, last Monday's ep, Bloodlines, was great. I loved seeing Roark Critchlow as Doug Lansing, even if he was dead. He's still Dr. Mike Horton from Days of Our Lives. Sigh. I loved him.

more tv rambling... )

Work is work. I need to make a locked post about stuff somewhere along the line. September is a go, and I have to have a staff in like, three months. Meep.

Family is good. Mom's been dealing with a bad root canal job, and Dad's been busy this week, so I haven't seen them a whole lot. We went to lunch at the World Sports Cafe today and then went shopping, so that was nice. I was at Barnes and Noble for an hour this morning buying books. Got another writing book and a couple of fluffy ones to read.

Was digging through a box the other night and found a story I had started writing in 2000. I think I might try to do something with it and try to make it into a novel. It needs some major revamping and character development, but I'd like to think that somewhere, I can make this work.

Split shift tomorrow, and I have Monday off. Am thinking about going to the scrapbook store to play around, but we'll see. I may end up putting the iPod on and doing some serious writing. I badly neglected the [livejournal.com profile] pdficchallenge prompts. I feel bad. Will be better about doing those. ;) I also need to work on my grief fic, because it's eating at my brain as well.

Am off to be productive. Or play on MySpace--either way. Hee.

Good night.

Work was actually excellent today, and Alisha and I had a good snickering session while we closed the store tonight. Pickle! Heh.

Then I came home, and watched CSI: NY, and tonight's ep has effectively made me squeal.

wherein I squee...spoilers abound! )

I seriously want to write tonight, but the muse is apprently grumpy and not speaking to me. I really wish one of the prompt communities I am a part of would be active again. Speaking of writing, I'll probably post another part of Reasons Why either here or at [livejournal.com profile] bigblckofcheese in the next day or so. Friday is my only day off, and then I work six days straight while Rach is in LA for manager's meetings, which makes me think that next year, I'll be traveling to those too. Meep!

Bed now, I suppose. Maybe my brain needs sleep in order to write in the morning or something.

Good night.

Heh. It's so nice to just be on vacation through this coming SUnday. My brain needed rest. I needed rest from my thoughts about work, at least for a little while.

So, wanted to say thank you to Nora, Vero, Jane, Annie, Jai, Gretchen, Dani, and Mary for the nice birthday wishes. They were greatly appreciated! Woo. Am now 25. Heh. The family was wonderful and I got excellent gift cards for iTunes, Target, Amazon, and Sephora. Heh. The Target one got me new CDs (Dierks Bentley's "Modern Day Drifter" and The Fray's "How To Save A Life") and half of my CSI: NY S2 dvds that I bought this morning. *g* The iTunes one has already gotten me four new songs and I have plenty more I want. Amazon is sending me two writing books that I was prusing online, and Josh Kelley's new CD. Lots of new music for me to play with. Also got nail polish, lip gloss and eye shadow from my mom and new earphones for H the iPod from my dad. And good smelly stuff from the co-workers from Victoria's Secret. The parents and I went to Logan's Roadhouse for dinner, and we had ice cream and such at the house. It was very--nice.

So yes, it was a nice birthday, and I thank you guys for the nice posts. *hugs*

So yeah, have been watching CSI: NY since about 9 am. I just finsihed watching "Bad Beat", I do believe. My only annoyance is that it has Manhattan Manhunt on it, but no ep from Miami that precedes it. I know it'll be on the Miami DVDs when they come out on the 31st, but still. However, having Flack AND Horatio in the same room at the same time? Yeah, I'm in love. Hee.

And CSI: Miami last night? So awesome. Lots of Ryan time, which is always good. I can always tell when Corey Miller has done the writing, because Jonathan Togo gets air time. Heh. But he was aweosme last night, as David was, of course. Hearing Horatio say he'd lost everything got me a little misty, I won't even lie. That hurt, man.

Have been writing the past couple of days. Am about halfway through my second Izzie/Denny fic for [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations, and I'm rather pleased with it. I've made my Denny a bit annoyed, and that amuses me. Once these three fics are done, I'm taking a break from challenges to focus on Horatio and Marisol. I've revamped the series again and have decided NOT to take it AU, but explore the grief a bit more. I might do a sidebar mini-series that IS AU, though. We'll see. The Supernatural series is also in the back of my head.

The muses apparently are back in business. So not cool. *g*

Am happier than I've been in awhile. A lot of things have been on my mind, mostly work related, and I'll probably share some of that in a locked, filtered post somewhere along the line. But being away from work are making things a bit more clear in my head.

Back to Izzie and Denny now, I suppose. Although I know I'll end up watching more of CSI: NY to amuse me.

Ahh, so [livejournal.com profile] fic_variations has sucked me in again. Am still working on finishing my Josh Lyman claim, but I've signed up for the October round, and claimed Izzie/Denny from Grey's Anatomy. Even though I know I'll end up bawling over this pair, the prompt really struck me as working for them. Hee. I get to write Denny Duquette fic, man! Am psyched. Ahh, Jeffery Dean Morgan, you suck me in with that adorable face. Damn it! Thank goodness for TWoP, because I so needed little dialogue pieces from "Begin The Begin" to start my I/D fics. Hooray!

Did another 12 hour day today. Ugh. Luckily, I have tomorrow off and get off at one pm on Frday. Then, Friday night, the mom and I are headed to the Fresno Fair to see my beloved Train! Hee. This will be a much better show for me, as the LAST time I went to see Pat and the boys, I ended up in a very bad car accident.

Huh. CSI: NY tonight was really, really good. Eddie Cahill yet again killed me with the snark, and those big blue eyes. Sigh. He's so hot. And Carmine made Danny SO endearing tonight! I'd so bring that home with me. Poor boy. I wanted to hug him. But I really liked the ep and although the Danny/Lindsay thing ended up weird, I think there's potential. Hee.

Woohoo! GA and Supernatural tomorrow night. Commercial breaks are my best friend. When one is on commercial, the other one is going and vice versa. My remote control so loves me. *g*

Still need to sit and write a Mayer review. I still freakin' love him and cannot get enough of "Continuum".

Bed now. Might sit up with my notebook and putter a bit, but my cold medicine is making me sleepy. Gotta get over this cold. It sucks.

Good night.

You know, why is it that CMT has to go and play "Skin (Sarabeth)" right as I start this. Don't they know I will be a sobbing mess by the end of the damn video? Sheesh. Hey [livejournal.com profile] brightillusions? I may not make it through this song on July 21st. LOL.

So anyway, last night, my parents and I dressed up and went to the Association of Mexican-American Educators Awards Banquet, where my dad was one of the honorees. He recieved the Cesar Chavez Leadership Award for his excellence in education for 29 years.

(gah. dang video. sob)

So anyway, my dad had to give a speech, and it turned out really well. Unfortunately for me, I had just talked to Rach on the phone and she jokingly told me to tell my dad to give a shout out to the Ann Taylor Loft team in his speech. Well, he took it literally and freakin' gave a shout out to my store in his speech at this major awards banquet. I was mortified at first, but thought it was hysterical. Only my dad, man. Hee. But I am so incredibly proud of him, and I was so tickled that he was honored with such a fantastic award.

We ended up getting home just in time to see part 1 of the CSI finale, which was fantastic. The preview for Miami on Monday, however, got me teary-eyed. CSI: NY on Wednesday made me cry at the end, but it was a great ep. Oh Flack, with your sleeves rolled up and no tie and jacket and that big, beautiful smile. So adorable. And Danny telling Aiden stories. Way perfect, and so Danny-ish to do.

Off to do a bit of laundry and such while I am here at the parents' house. Heh. Hey Jane, I'll try to catch you this evening sometime if I can, if not, we'll plan a brainstorming session ASAP!

And I'm still not used to these nails. Sob.

CSI: NY just ended and I am just--sitting here with my jaw open. All I can really say is Stella is awesome, and I am just more in love with my adorable bad tie-wearing detective (tm [livejournal.com profile] goddess_loki), Don Flack. I love that Stella called him Don, and I love that he stayed with her--stuck by her. He was such a sweetheart, and I would kill for caps of the final scene with Eddie and Melina. They were wonderful, and I loved him kissing her cheek and hugging her. They are good friends, and I loved the relationship. I need Flack icons. Badly.

But otherwise? "All Access" floored me. I'm almost speechless. Loved the Danny/Lindsay scenes, and Hawkes! I love Hawkes.

I think I may have found a dress for Leslie's wedding, and for the award ceremony that I am my dad's date to. If it fits, I will be beyond thrilled.

Bed now. Back to work at 7 am. Whee! Have Friday off, where I plan to write and clean up my apartment. I have GOT to write my kidnapping challenge for the pdficchallenge community. Meep.

Good night.

Dear lord. CSI: NY has officially broken me. Damn you, Carmine Giovinazzo! I freakin' bawled my way through the last--15 minutes of the episode. Good lord. That last scene with Danny and Mac? Yeah, it made me incredibly weepy. Evil. Thank goodness for Kleenex, that is all I have to say!

Am very, very glad I taped "Run Silent, Run Deep". Will rewatch it tomorrow before I head back to work and while I'm working on my CSI: Miami fic.

Bed now. Visual workshop at 7 am. Yay?
