A very late night post just to gush about baseball a bit. As most people know, I was born and raised a San Francisco Giants fan. I will always be a Giants fan, no matter what they do in a season. HOWEVER, this season has been absolutely incredible. Not only did we win the National League West, but the NL Division Series, then the NL Championship Series (beat THAT, Philly!), and we're now in the World Series, up 2 games to 1 vs. the Texas Rangers. Gah! We kicked their butts in SF, and now we're gonna bring it all home. Seriously.

I don't even think I could gush enough about my boys. From Timmy to Matt Cain, to Buster Posey(see icon), to Aubrey Huff, to Cody Ross (the Boss!!). And then my Aaron...oh, my beloved Aaron. He may have struggled this season, but when it matters, the man comes to freakin' play. Which leads me into the next thing...

The Dad and I actually went to Game 2 of the World Series in San Francisco last Thursday night. And I swear, it was the most amazing experience of my life! We had awesome, upper lever seats, surrounded by awesome other fans. We got to see Lady Antebellum perform the National Anthem, a home run by Edgar Renteria, and the Giants take the Rangers bullpen for a freakin' ride in the 8th inning. We scored 7 runs that inning, leading us to an eventual 9-0 win. We sang along with Steve Perry (who was there in the crowd, leading everyone in song), and generally had THE most amazing time. Plus, my Aaron hit a huge two out, two run stand-up triple. I may have lost my voice screaming for him in that moment. Seriously. Matt Cain is a freakin' workhorse (and I adore him), and the boys were just terrific.

I really can't get over that we got to go to a WS game. I will never, ever forget it, and I get a little teary just thinking about the whole experience, especially that I got to go with my dad, who raised me to be this Giants fanatic. Heh.

So here's to my favorite boys...regardless of what happens the rest of the Series, I am so proud to be a fan of these guys, the best group of misfits ever. Lovelovelove!

that have made me happy today:

1.) The Giants kicking some Atlanta butt tonight in Game 1 of the NLDS. The Timmy with 14 Ks and Buster Posey with an SB (albeit that he really was tagged out, but oh well, ATL was SOL on that call...heh) and Cody Ross with the RBI. Lights out tonight. Gah! Good lord, I love this freakin' GAME! Eeee! My boys are in the playoffs, people. I am giddy. Giddy, I say. I am somewhere in the vicinity of the zone. Seriously.

2.) Getting good mail! Got some money back from my apartment complex and the deposit...yay! Also got my official transcript so I can finally apply for school. And--I got the writing books and new journal that I ordered on Amazon with a gift certificate I hadn't used yet. Hooray!

3.) Oh hell. Tim Lincecum. He makes me happy! (as does Aaron Rowand. I heart him. Endlessly!)

Things have been crazy busy lately. Work stuff, traveling for work, and lots of excellent personal stuff happening.

The biggest thing is that I've been searching for a new place to live come this summer, and as of today, unless something majorly drastic happens, my offer on a two-story townhouse was accepted! I signed the paperwork and gave the first $2000 up for the deposit. I'm so excited. It was the place I wanted, and I knew it was the right place as soon as I saw it. It's got an ideal upstairs with the perfect spot for my computer desk (for Chris the HP) and writing stuff. I'm really happy. And again, unless something weird happens in escrow, the place is mine. Plus, it's a bit closer to work and in a great neighborhood/complex. Plus, the offer the seller accepted was way lower than we thought they'd take, plus they're kicking back a bit of the closing cost! I'm feeling oddly accomplished with my first home buying...and I'm feeling like a grown-up. Heh. My family has been so awesome with the help, and they're just as excited. Same goes for my co-workers and good friends, who have been so excited for me and have been just as anxious as I have for any news on the offers and the places I'd found. I'm grateful for a lot of the people in my life.

So yeah, the next two months are going to be very busy as the escrow process occurs and I hope and pray nothing goes south. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for days, methinks. I am happy, but cautious.

Random things: Glee rocks. Just...it's awesome. I'm just in love with it. Meep.

And Sunday night's Academy of Country Music awards? Freakin' awesome. Let's put it this way, Song and Single of the Year and Top Vocal Group? The right winner won and I may have cried for said winner. Same goes for Record of the Year and Female Vocalist. Totally deserved. A bit bitter about Male Vocalist and Entertainer, but I digress on that. Moreso bitter about Entertainer of the Year. Seriously?! Coughcough. Also, Top New Artist was deserved too...the artist makes me smile a lot. Heh.

So yeah, busy busy times. I love it. =)

Happy!

Wow...long time no post. Meep. Nothing really substantial to say, to be honest. I've been busy with work and things. Am on the hunt for my first house, and I've been spending time with the family. Work is definitely keeping me busy in many good ways, but things get stressful at the same time.

Been busy on the writing front too...there's been some definite plot progress on the novel, and I am feeling somewhat accomplished. Still on track to make my goal this year for [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout. Yay! I've gotten a couple of new writing books and have really gotten a good start on a little binder of scene ideas and such. I even made a fanmix of songs for my main pairing for inspiration and it seems to be helping. I will have something substantial by the end of the year. I actually posted a small scene in a comment over at GYWO a couple of days ago..something I never thought I'd do.

The dad and I are going to pore over the Giants home schedule to pick out a few more games to attend besides the Red Sox in June. YAY baseball...I have missed it so. The dad and I are also planning to go to Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum in May...woohoo! I so look forward to seeing three of my favorite, favorite singers. And technically, speaking of Charles Kelley...I am beyond excited for Josh Kelley's upcoming country album. It is going to be fantastic as always, but Josh is an incredibly underrated artist. He's a wonderful songwriter and singer, and I really hope he finally gets the credit he deserves.

And of course, I really couldn't resist a music meme....

You can learn a lot about someone from the music they listen to. Here's the game: hit shuffle on your music player, and write down the first 25 songs that come up. No cheating or skipping songs.
25 random songs...shuffle is fuuuuuunnnn! )

It's been awhile. Not a ton to say,but hey.

Valentine's Day was nice, and spent with my parents. Saturday we went to a later lunch and went to the movies. The mom and I saw "Valentine's Day" (love!), and the dad went and saw "The Wolfman". There was drooling over Eric Dane by me, for the record. Guh. Just guh. But the dad gave me a pretty red rose (which sits on my nightstand at the moment) and a Target gift card, and the mom gave me a gorgeous new pink purse and matching wallet. Hee. I am addicted to pink and to purses.

Work is good. Tiring, but good.

Am trying to plan a trip to Oregon in April to see the BFF (hahaha!), her husband, and my niece and nephews. Hoping it will all pan out! It also looks like Dad and I will be going to Vegas sometime this summer. I haven't been there in 7 years!

The writing is a challenge so far this year, but I'm relatively sticking to it! Some days are better than others, let me tell you! I have so much story in my brain, and yet, sometimes it just doesn't flow. But I'll get it there, and by golly, I'll have 100k written for In The Spotlight. Because...yes.

Music wise...am completely in love with Lady Antebellum's sophomore effort "Need You Now". They sound amazing, and there's not one song I skip. Amazing songs again. NYN is a given, but I'm in love with "Love This Pain" and "Hello World". Gah. And I lovelovelove how Charles thanks his brother Josh again in the liner notes. It made me smile. I am so looking forward to Josh's new country album within the next few months.

Am currently listening to several live shows from John Mayer that I dled yesterday. He's been doing "In Your Atmosphere" again lately---I love that! At Birmingham, he mixed it with "Something's Missing". Sigh. Love! And geez, he did "Free Fallin'" too. He's trying to kill me. Seriously. I'm still in love with Battle Studies as well. Heartbreak Warfare just kills me. Thank goodness it's the current single!

Ugh. Bed now. Work most of the week, and have Friday off. I've been glued to the Olympic coverage, and I'm knitting a blanket for a friend/former co-worker who is having a baby this summer. So many projects! Heh.

Hope you all are well. Good night! (morning?!?)

It's been a very nice Christmas week. Work out the wazoo. It's been very busy, which is good for us retail grunts. Heh. The boss (Summer) gave us (her managers) a cute card filled with gift cards to restaurants in the Village, which rocks.

Spent Christmas with the parents, of course. Went to the house after work on Christmas Eve, had sandwiches and snack stuff, and then we opened presents. My family, as always, was way too good to me. They got me lots (and I mean lots) of makeup (which, anyone who knows me knows I have an addiction to lip gloss), plus a pair of gorgeous handmade glass earrings, two new necklaces (an S pendant and a silver cat pendant), a new bluetooth headset for my cell, an Amazon gift certificate, a gift card to Ulta, stuff from Bath and Body Works, and Britney's "Curious" perfume (it's one of my favorites).

But the two big ones were amazing. Mom got me and my dad tickets to the June 25th, 2010 Giants/Red Sox game at AT&T Park. Color me so beyond excited, and already hoping the Timmy is pitching that night. Hee. Then, the parents got me a brand new digital camera. My old one was pretty lousy, and they knew I wanted a good one for when I go to concerts and things. So they got me a fantastic new one that I can't wait to start using, Maybe I'll actually put new photos up on Facebook. Haha.

All in all, a fantastic Christmas. We went to see "Sherlock Holmes" yesterday and had a good time...a very entertaining movie!

Put in my writing pledge for 2010 with [livejournal.com profile] getyourwordsout. I am going to write 100K words this coming year, but on a single project. I'm going to settle in and focus on the nvoel this year for sure. I'm seriously going to flesh things out and make it come together, along with really developing these characters that I love so much.

Planning a trip to Oregon to vist Rach, Jason, and the kids in February. I miss my BFF terribly.

Addicted to Lady A's new song "American Honey", along with all the songs from Glee. Lovelovelove!

Oy. Bed soon. Hope everyone's holidays have been excellent!
